TBH i think the dongle is the selling point.to me anyways
This was why I bought it too. On the software side I had no issues waiting for hekate or Atmosphere to mature, but the dongle will remain useful even after the SX software itself becomes redundant.TBH i think the dongle is the selling point.to me anyways
Making open source solution was the right choice and should have been started already long time ago with an option of only loading own back ups instead of some one else to avoid piracy, but it was not done due to moral choices and focused on creating tools for unlocking SX OS (not crack, so someone else can do it instead of those who made tools just to avoid piracy). Its really shame to see no progress from Atmosphere for long time.I released all my IDA dissasemblies and a brief overview of my RE to my private group. Tbh, writing an open source version would be more ideal I think. Maybe even marginally easier/less annoying given that you have to relocate all the addresses in .rodata for all 3 kips. I think TX already laughed their way to the bank though. So its not the highest priority i have atm.
but uh if you go to the github they still update the code? hmm?
https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere
What I meant by that are the crucial parts. Yeah, they are constantly updating it, but I am certain that they have a guarding strategy in place.Thats what I mean, they are actively working on it, if you look at there github, they are updating files and folders almost daily![]()
This guy gets it.At the end of the day, efforts towards an open sorice solution are good for the whole scene. I have an SX Pro, it’s great. But it’s not healthy for the scene to perpetually rely on one vendor. We should want the scene to reach a point where closed solutions are no longer required.
I own a Gateway and got great use from it, but it’s good that we no longer need it. I suspect that TX dongle will remain useful even if the SX software becomes unnecessary.

when Half Life 3 is released.so when will you think sx os will be cracked?? im tired of using layeredfs.
Oh put a sock in it. They're pirates, the people who use their os are mainly pirates. Do you really think anyone gives a single shit?Updates to what? Publicly available stolen code?
It's a matter of days, really. Decompiling the bins and matching parameters, variables and code snippets will take considerably less time than engineering from scratch.so when will you think sx os will be cracked?? im tired of using layeredfs.

But let's be frank here, what mods can't you run with layeredfs?![]()
What makes you say that? I guess the limit is your imagination.I can't see them releasing a cracked version, it's going to have to be done anonymously, I can't see them opening the floodgates for upto 17m switches being able to fairly easily use a backup loader.
What makes you say that? I guess the limit is your imagination.
Have there not been exploits and backup loaders published on GBATemp for all kinds of consoles in the past?
Really, I am genuinely interested in how you came to that conclusion.
First of all, it is most likely that the big names will offer a patcher or sth similar at most. You will have to provide the SX OS v1.3 from TX homepage yourself.from being a life long pirate, these people are known to the public thru social media, dont you think releasing a cracked version of a backup loader will attract alot of attention from everyone ?

Soon enough, there will be somebody (less known or anonymous) who wants to streamline the process for all the less well versed users - that somebody will put out a guide with all the necessary files put together in one place to be downloaded. They will find a way as they always do.
Secondly, do you know that really only a small fraction of nintendo switch owners are willing to stick anything into their joyon rail? Additionally to the many technical obstacles that these processes represent to the layman and the potential to brick your 300$ console and lose the warranty for said product. I think you are overestimating that number.
I'm not going to make claims about how homebrew and piracy possibly supports game and console sales - that is a topic for another time.
Oh well, I'm not here to change your mind if it is changeable at all.
But do make a point if you have a pertinent one.
What's with the hostility and the language? Yes, there is a demand.I think you overestimate the number of user who actually give a F about sticking a jig in their Joy-Con rail and having a "brick code in their software.
People want piracy and they don't care how they get it. The pure fact that the SX OS Pro bundles are sold out instantly gives you a clue about how many people care about that kind of risk and how many actuality don't care and play their backups.

What's with the hostility and the language? Yes, there is a demand.
But it's not as tremendous as our GBATemp filter bubble makes it out to be. We're having a very specific userbase here.
