Switch works 100% fine and cfw launches and runs, only issue im running into is that no matter wheat charger i use, i cant get the console to start charging. its currently at 50% and will die if i cant charge. i tested hekate USB tools and SD card reads from computer without issue. if anyone needs more info please help

after thorough checking and looking at some diagrams i think I've found the issue. Not sure how that component could've have gotten knocked off if i never got anywhere near it during the solder work.

confirmation as to what has to go here so i can fix the issue? diagrams ive seen say its a fuse

Yes, it looks like ground and afaik there should be a fuse right there, you can replace it or bridge it and test if that's the issue!
If it is, then replace it with a fuse for security and circuit protection

But just for making sure, which model is your switch?

installed a fuse that i salvaged from another electronic and console now detects charging but it looks like the battery might be dropping, Would just hard bridging this resolve the issue albeit unsafe?

Well, that's pretty strange, try using original charger and let it charge for a few minutes, if the battery keeps going down maybe there's something else wrong around the charging section, ICs or Voltage regulators, you can check with a multimeter if there's enough power reaching the battery

fyi your charging ic seems been replaced
Second hand console i bought from a friend but im not sure. I shorted the connection where the fuse used to be and now its charging properly. Facing a different issue with something else but that would require a new thread. will use it bridged for now and will order the fuse sometime later.

Meanwhile try to use the original Adapter to avoid any unexpected current. Btw, which other problems are you facing? Just curiosity

Current isn't determined by the power source, current is determined by the power consumer. If it draws enough to cause a problem then it has another board problem elsewhere.

@OP, that is the invincible fuse, it rarely ever fails, usually the BQ or M92 chips fail. M92 is in the top center of you pic and the one that may have been replaced. The BQ is just off to the right of your picture.

I'll most likely just run the console bridged for the time being. Only other issue I'm running into is emmc errors when running normal games in OFW. Already made a separate thread. Console charging and working perfectly otherwise 👍
