You stated that the only reason to update to 6.2.0 is online. Which is wrong as you need 7.0.x for that.
What is so great about 7.0.x? Everything works and you don't have to update later when games are released which require it.
He won't gain anything by staying on 5.1.0 (unlike if he updates). And there is nothing major planned for 5.1.0 anyways, so why hold onto it?
Everything works? There are still
NUMEROUS CFW hacks/tweaks/packages that aren't working and haven't been updated with 7.0.x support yet. So clearly "everything" to you is not the same "everything" to other people. The guy said he's using CFW, so clearly those things might apply to him.

Cool, Thanks for the list. I will pass that whole 9 game list along to anyone else who is thinking about bothering themselves with sidegrading and THEY can decide if any of those games apply to them.

Also, if you're saying that 6.2.0 is better, why are you telling him to stay on 5.1.0? Shouldn't 5.1.0 be apparently the best? I said that he should update to 6.2.0 (or 7.0.1). I gave him options.
Yeah that's right, I did say that 6.2.0 was better. But unlike you, I'm actually taking into account what he's going to gain (NOTHING), and the amount of work it takes to do FW upgrades via CFW. There isn't enough to justify him wasting his time jumping to a higher FW (no matter what version, 6.2.0/7.0.x) when he clearly has NO REASON TO, and will gain NOTHING that's going to benefit him! You said you "gave him options" but yet you basically took away his option of him staying right where he's at by saying "there is no reason to stay on 5.1.0". How do you know what's being planned? How do you know someone isn't working on a new exploit that might drop next week that will ONLY WORK for FW 6.2.0 or lower?
You remind me of some of those guys in the iPhone scene who are ALWAYS updating to the "latest FW" for no other reason than just to be on the "latest FW". Then several weeks/months go by and someone drops a new Jailbreak that ONLY WORKS on previous FW. Then all the all SMART PEOPLE who stayed behind are enjoying themselves Jailbreaking their devices, meanwhile all the dumbasses who updated are bitching and whining blowing up the forums with threads asking "when are they gonna drop a release for the latest FW?", or "is there any way I can DOWNGRADE my device back to the older FW?".
Clearly your main priority is NOT CFW/Homebrew, and that's fine! But a lot people (myself included) are here solely because of CFW/Homebrew. So I just think it's reckless to go around telling people to upgrade without taking their situation into account and having their best interests in mind. Just because something suits you doesn't mean it suits everyone else. At least if I tell the guy to STAY WHERE HE'S AT, he can always upgrade later on if he want's. It's a lot easier to UPGRADE than it is to DOWNGRADE! And once you go UP and burn those fuses, there's no bringing them back!
