Hey guys so i got a switch (v1) recently used from someone. When i did the initial setup i noticed the sound wasn't working. I tried restarting it, updating switch to latest everything, no sound. The sound works when i plug in a headphone or i put the switch on dock. What could be the problem?

2nd question is, i have 1 bad joystick on the left one. I have an already broken right joycon with perfetly good joystick. Is it possible to put the right joycon's joystick into the left one? or i have to buy a left one specifically?

Hmm, possibly the switch that detects when headphones are plugged in is broken or dirty so it thinks headphones are always plugged in. I can't remember if TV output is normally muted when headphones are plugged in.

The sticks are identical so yes, you can do that.

Thanks. When i plug in there headphones the headphone volume slider opens up and when taken out it changes back to regular speaker slider. So that means it recognizes when a headphone is inserted or taken out.

It might be something more serious then, I'm afraid. Possibly the speaker amp is fried or some component related to it.

The cartridge slot work? The cartridge slot and the headphone jack shared the same mainboard connector.
