This board had ALL of its pins ripped. I have rebuilt the port with a working board at hand.

  • It wont dock when i place it in a (nintendo) dock. Behavior is normal except there is no picture on the tv.
  • It will dock, if i disassemble the dock and plug it in reversed.
  • The working board docks both ways.
  • PD negotiation works in both direction, 15V OK on the board.
What pins should i check? All of my checks showed no error in wiring, but obviously something is wrong.

  • This C socket was salvaged from a broken dock. I had to use this because it does not cover the missing pins. I have used jumper wires.
  • I have left out some ground pins (2 of 5) and a VCC (1 of 4). Definitely not the problem.
  • The blue wire is just a spacer between the two rows.
  • All pins look fine with beep mode.
    • I have tested it with a standalone dock plug. (from plug side to PI3USB side of filters)
  • To my knowledge every signal pair should be OK to dock succesfully.
  • The dock works in both direction with many other switches.

I had the time to buy a third party dock. This one is made by KOBE. It works flawlessly with this. WHY?
I will disassemble this one and try reverse. I guess it should not work that way.

I have used the original pads (what remained of them), with straight jumpers.

Today I rewired the port (straight to filters), and may have killed M92T36.
Is CC1 supposed to be 5v-ish?
Also the switch wont negotiate with the charger now.
  • One way it sends 5V
  • The other way it jumps between 2 and 3V.
  • Original dock blinks fast the second I drop it in.

It says it uses CC1 and CC2 for negotiation. Nothing about voltage levels.

EDIT:
The minimal configuraton for charging is VCC, GND and/or CC1/CC2.
Charges with 15v.
