Guys Quick question... I'm able to run the fusee gelee hack with usb 2.0 or is mandatory USB 3.0 PC side? Thanks

USB 2 at the pc end is fine :)

Hey all, question: What is the switch jig for? Like, the little thing that people have been making that clips into the side of the system? Can any firmware person use that?

Thanks.

The JIG is to get the switch into RCM, a mode that then allows things to be loaded on the switch from a connected USB

So as a 5.0+ user, is this any use for me?

At this current time not much can be done, you can load Linux up, back up your NAND or parts of it (saves etc) but if you are asking then I'd advise reading up on things just now and having patience, things will only get easier and more interesting soon ;)

Sorry, another question: Once I load up the switch using the jig, can I take it out so I can put my joycon back on? Or does it have to stay in place forever!?

Im considering buying a dongle to connect xbox or ps controller to my switch.
is there a device that you would recommend buying or is such a device obsolete when atmosphere is released?

You can take it out once you're in RCM. If you ever turn off your Switch and need to boot into RCM again, you'll need to put the jig back in.

Hi guys. I have been reading a bit about the upcoming Nintendo Switch Online Service that is launching in September. Anyway from what I have read, there are 2 types of Membership: Individual, and Family. For Family, it says that a Credit Card or Paypal Account will need to be linked to a Nintendo Account. I know it is not launched yet, but does anyone think I will need Family Membership for NSO if I am only user of my Switch? Thoughts appreciated :)

Hello all.

I'm on 4.10 and have at some point downloaded (but not run) a higher firmware update. This must have happened in the background automatically as I have no recollection of doing this.
I want to use the eShop but I get a notification asking me to update or cancel the firmware as soon as I launch it.
I've now added a custom DNS to block updates, rebooted, and tried clicking on the eShop really quickly, same result.
I don't want to completely format my Switch to remove the downloaded update as I'll also lose all my save data.

Any ideas to get around this? Alternatively is there any downside to upgrading to the latest version in regards to upcoming end user exploits and cfw?

Thanks.

I currently do not have a USB C cord, would me plugging the dock through a standard usb with the switch in it work? i honestly doubt it but what do you fellas think?
You can try but it won't work. A USB c to USB a cable is very cheap though. You can get one for under $10

Considering this is gonna be Nintendo's first time implementing paid online, there's a lot of uncertainty about the finer details. So I don't think there's an answer to your question. What prompted you to ask that question? Won't individual service be more appropriate?

I believe that's the super update nag that Nintendo recently implemented. There's only a fix for users on 3.0 so you will have to wait for cfw for another possible fix. For your other question, updating from 4.1 to 5.x will mean you will lose out on a possible software exploit as there is one unreleased for 4.1 but none as far as know for 5.x

I'm on 3.0 is it possible to update my game at all?

I assume I'm stuck with whatever is bundled on the game cart

will 4.0.1 firmware have a softmod at launch of Atmosphere or will we still need a jig?

And are 4.0.1 and 4.1 basically the same?

So... when will we be able to install switch games for free (just as we can nowadays install a game witch a .cia with FBI)?
Since no one has publicly revealed they're on this, nobody knows. All we can say is Soon.

Unfortunately not. There used to be a way but Nintendo blocked that method last year.

Not at launch but sometime down the road. 4.01 and 4.1 are the same with regards to software exploits

question: If I am on 3.0.2 (Notice the two at the end of the number) does that mean I can use 3.0.0 hacks? (For instance HBlauncher?)

What would my best bet be, stay on 3.0.2 or upgrade to 4.x via cart?
Anything between 3.01 and 4.1 are the same when it comes to exploits. When the CFW, Atmosphere, launches, people on those firmwares will need to use the hardmod at first but there will be software method somewhere down the line. We don't know how long we will have to wait for said softmod.

Yo! Haven't been in here for a year almost.

I recently read about Tegra hardware bug and I have a Super Mario Odyssey Bundled Switch on 4.0.1.

Do I understand things correctly that "Atmosphere" is the CFW that exploits the Tegra hardware bug and is scheduled to be released on June 15th, 2018?
