Its not likely that you will get banned for using a dumped 3DS cart. That is mostly due to the fact that there are no unique identifiers for 3DS carts. However, Switch carts do have unique identifiers so it is very likely you will get banned for using a dumped cartridge. It not only happened when people dumped their cartridges and injected those headers into backups but it has also occurred when people used public dumps of cartridges online with the Mig Switch. Exercise caution when using secondhand Switch games online.

sorry i meant switch instead of the 1st 3ds, but i think you still understood what i meant.
yeah thanks i think i will just go full digital and only new games for switch. kinda shame used 3ds games spoiled me sometimes with really good prices

Yes it works on Linux on Switch. I used Kubuntu 24.04. Installed openjdk-21-jre-headless with apt. Extracted IntelliJ IDEA ARM64 .tar.gz. Execute /bin/idea. It opened and I was able to create a new project.

Sorry to bother but I have a very early unpatched Switch I homebrewed early on. Meaning it had Stock and sysnandCFW as its hekate/atmosphere boot options as this was long before emuMMC as an option. Later I added emunand and have mostly played on it. sysnandCFW saw a few installs but as far as I can remember never even saw wifi and never went online, really none of them ever did. I'm trying now to fix a few things so I can play legit copy of pokemon with a friend.

1. I messed up my emunand updating and accidentally didn't install the exFAT driver so it no longer loads (I know FAT32 is better but options/suggestions were different then) So I have to fix that, delete it and remake maybe? I only have a few saves I have drag and dropped over to my laptop already.

2. Restore my sysnandCFW for going online? Unless I'm suppose to boot to stock a certain way and safely update that for doing so? (Sadly I'm not sure my nand backup is all the way before I had installed a few things to sysnandcfw or not since emunand wasn't originally an option and I never thought I would go online before now. Mostly just want to make sure I set up and update the right side of things to play legit games.)

3. Update safely to play my legit cart. I've only really updated the emunand before and have no idea if I need to update sysnand or stock to do so and don't want to mistakenly burn fuses. This is covered in some guides but most are worded more toward siwtches modified much later than mine.

Sorry on the long post I just don't want to local trade someone from a legit cart and get someone lese banned because my Switch is modded, unlikely as that is I would rather set things up right before getting myself or anyone banned.

Normally the error is when you have your card on ExFat format and do not install firmware with ExFat support (drivers) but if you install a new firmware with DayBreak and select ExFat option that means you install FAT32 and ExFat drivers so if your card is Fat32 should work fine.

you should never restore a backup if you went online with that *NAND after the backup. That is a sure ban.

Thank you for the reply. Sadly I can't just install both drivers as emunand is no longer bootable as a result so I can't access daybreak with it. Suppose I could with sysnandcfw but I'm assuming that will only give the option to install it there. So do I need to use the original stock nand for online? Its still on a very early version of software and would need a massive update as it has never been updated. So I don't know the safe method to update it.

I already had a file on another SD card, it seems, so I just copied that over. Will installing my own carts/other backups on emuMMC be risky if I intend to use the same SD card for sysMMC?

How do I sync bluetooth headphones between emuMMC and sysMMC? I have to keep deregistering and reregistering my headphones every time I switch between them.

I have a game arriving in a few weeks, but I want to play it now. If I play it on my emuMMC now, will it be safe to transfer the save to sysMMC when I have the physical copy?
 
is it safe to overclock the switch lite in order to perform better? is it worth it ? will it damage my switch in the long run?
best overclock settings suggested by you guys ?
