Which microsd speed classes are compatible with the Switch? On the Nintendo website it says UHS-1, but other sites and sources keep talking about UHS-3 cards for it.

I know its not hacking related, but why on earth wont my joycons charge when hooked up on the main device (but not plugged in the dock) ?

its actually working the exact other way. up until 30 or 50% joy con charge, the joy cons will actually help charging the console!

Wait, so they charge or do they not then?
If the info people have been giving is all true it seems like it's done quite smartly to keep all the devices powered for as long as possible so the switch charges the joycons if they are low and the switch is high on power and the other way around.

Not that I consider this a noob question as I cant find much information elsewhere :P but does anyone know what language support comes off the South African e-shop? The games off their eshop are soooooo much cheaper than everywhere else. Has anyone brought of it that can give any information? Would say Skyrim/BotW brought off their eshop be any different to that of say that of France/Italy/England/Australia

The language of most games you buy corresponds to the language of your switch. So if you have you switch set to English, than most games will be English no matter where you buy them.

Time to make a South American Nintendo account...

Much appreciated, I thought the digital games from different regions(other than specific Japanese only eshop games) might only be released with certain language support, but what you are saying makes much more sense.

it's because the switch is region free. you can play any game from any country on the switch

Good afternoon, I would like to know if;
1. The switch is region free but what about the charging? Can I use any region s charger with my country (Malaysia, uses UK configuration)?

2. Can any USB-C charger/power bank work? Will it affect my switch negatively in any way?

Thank you so much for your time in answering my questions.

1. Yes
2. Most of them will, but the switch is a bit picky. Like the OnePlus charger doesn't work, but everything else I've tested including a battery pack works. Do note it'll charge slower if you're using a lower wattage charger.

Can anyone help be figure out what firmware version my Switch is on?
From what I understand, you're supposed to go into "System Settings", then down to "System", and it tells you under "System Update" what version you're on. The problem for me is that I have a "System update ready" so it wont tell me any more.
I read someone here suggest I should turn my WiFi off and then restart the console, but I'm still getting the same message right now after a few tries.

I own a copy of Mario Odyssey but as far as I can remember, I've always rejected the firmware updates at every prompt and continued playing the game. I'm not sure if that suggests anything but is it possible for me to have played the Mario Odyssey cart without updating beyond 3.0?
Something else I noticed was that holding the capture button doesn't record video footage for me, which I think was only introduced at a later firmware.

It means you have a system update pending that you are going to want to erase. Restart your Switch while holding + and -. This will erase just the update, then check the firmware the same way you just did.
