How do you change the chip? Does it require any micro soldering?
Or is it pluggable?
The chip is on a separate PCB; however the connector is non-standard (not compatible with Odroid/PINE64/other SBC connector), so you will need to either solder or find someone who will do the chip swapping for you. After you have the PCB with the changed chip, you can just replace the PCB.

I'm curious if it is possible to manufacture an adapter from Odroid/PINE64/other SBC eMMC connector to Switch eMMC connector.
MatinatorX (developer from DragonInjector) looked into this not too long ago; here is a screenshot from his reply in the Discord chat. It may be possible still though, but it seems he think it isn't

Edit: I may have misunderstood you; I thought you meant designing a daughterboard with a different type of NAND chip that fits in the slot in the Switch. I'm sorry if that wasn't the case

Anybody over here knows somebody in Shenzhen that can perform the NAND upgrade? Or otherwise have a reballing station?
I am invisiting Shenzhen in 2 weeks and want to check if I can get hold of a module in SEG Plaza..Would be even more wonderful if I also directly can have it soldered!

I tried nandpart, it worked well and i could boot to ofw. just read the guide below or use my video guide
@ sthetix. Hello. An exceptional video and hard work. I have a Switch patched. My question is if I can use this procedure in my case. Does "Customized Hekate" work on a Patched Switch? Show me anything on the Switch screen when i launch paylod and the console is in rcm mode? Thank you in advance for your answer !!

If your patched switch is 4.0.1 you can hack it. Otherwise you need to wait.

Can someone give me a rundown on the procedure to do this nand swap...?
I assume it is something like this
Find compatible nand with switch
desolder switch nand solder on new nand
software stuff
boom switch with extra internal memory
con? can't go online with swapped nand.

Links to suitable nand chips for swapping would be appreciated..
Also how many US people are interested in this seriously?

1. Backup your NAND and everything you possibly can.
2. Find pretty much any 159-ball 5.0 eMMC .
3. Preferably, buy second daughterboard.
4. Solder it onto the daughterboard.
5. Replace the daughterboards.
6. Connect your Switch to PC via memloader.
7. Resize the eMMC (following a tutorial posted somewhere here)
8. Profit.

This advice is nice, care to go into detail of the soldering process if you have more knowledge of this... It's bga if I only have a hot air station how could one achieve this reliably...

Desolder the old chip, clean the contacts of any solder "blobs", reball the eMMC (might come that way), eyeball the position and just use the hot air rework station and hope for the best.

Hello guys.
I decided to make a nand upgrade for my Switch and i ordered new chip eMMC SDINBDA4-128G from here:

https://ro.mouser.com/ProductDetail/SanDisk/SDINBDA4-128G?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtrOYfT0mhKeUzd88m4IAQx8g4qy4blkMZQF//LLxhtRA==

Until i get it, with hekate i have dumped eMMC BOOT0, BOOT1, eMMC RAW GPP, BIS, TSEC and SBK keys. I removed the eMMC board from the Switch and with the hot air station, i removed the original NAND chip and clean off the pads on the mini board. When the new chip arrives, they i come back with new information on how i progress with the work.
