Hello,
I tried to install a Picofly modchip on a Switch Lite. After finishing the chip installation, I reconnected the battery, but there was a burning smell and smoke coming from the Switch. I immediately unplugged the battery. I also completely removed the RP2040.

When I reconnected and powered on the console, I noticed that the backlight was no longer working (I used my phone's flashlight to see the Switch menu). I disconnected the battery again and checked the flex cable just above it. As you can see in the photo, the fourth pin from the right is burnt. It seems like this pin is for the backlight.

I'm planning to buy a new flex cable, but are there any specific points I should check before installing it to avoid damaging the new one as well?
Thanks.

check both side of your 29pin cable connector. You might have twisted or bent pin inside the connector from the mainboard side since you have to disconnect long ext flex and battery prior to safely working on installation

Thank you for your reply. I received the flex cable and i have still not the backlight. I will buy and try to replace the 29 pin connector from the mainboard side.
Indeed, I can't fully insert the cable into the connector on the right side, which could be due to a bent pin.

Hello, I changed the FPC connector but the coil burned out, and I would like to replace it, but I don't know what type of coil it is. Do you know? Thank you.

Hello,
I checked the datasheet of the TPS61163 ( https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps61163.pdf?ts=1749935057765 ).
On page 19, it says that a 4.7 µH coil works for standard use. Do you think this kind of coil ( https://urlr.me/dYHNgP ) could work in a Switch Lite?
Thank you.
Maybe this info for the OLED might help :

I think that circuitry hasn't changed so it would be a matter of locating the component.

Thank you, i checked it the ic seems not the same but there are 2 coils (4uH) and one coil (10uH).
I was able to get a donor board from a V1, so I'll start testing with that.
