I'm wondering if something like the GuliKit Switch Battery Grip exists for HDDs?
I would really love to take my 500GB HDD with me on the road this summer and that would help immensely!
Or if you know someone on Etzy you can recommend to make one that would be nice too.

I don't understand... is the HDD being used with the Switch?

Is it a 3.5" or 2.5" HDD?

Why not just use an SSD, SD, or usb drive? HDDs aren't really meant to be brought on the road. They're not supposed to be shaken around and exposure to magnets or elements can damage the sensitive hardware inside. People typically take for granted how complex and sensitive hard drives are.

If you insist on bringing the HDD with you, you can buy any hard drive enclosure off Newegg, Ebay, or wherever to house your drive safely and securely. They come in 3.5" and 2.5" varieties.

You could also just opt to buy a 500GB micro sd. The 500GB U3 Samsungs are $100 on Amazon right now. The Switch cannot utilize U3 maximum speeds, but the minimum speeds of U3 make them optimal. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-MicroSD-Adapter-MB-ME512GA-AM/dp/B07MKSGZM6/

I assume you are using with sxos to boot xci games to switch right?. You could simply buy velcro with tape on the back. Like this one from amazon. https://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-Brand...ick+on+velcro&qid=1558132058&s=gateway&sr=8-3

This way you can mount it to the back and remove the drive when not in use so the switch can fit into a case. SSD are pretty light so it should be secure enough. How do you currently connect it to the switch? Is it in an enclosure or do you use a sata to usb adapter.

Thanks for the idea but I honestly don't like the thought of sticking something adhesive to my switch.

I've seen a couple of 3d printable battery cases on thingiverse, potentially you could modify one to suit the dimensions of your SSD and get one printed
