Hacking support the newest 3DS Ver.5.1.0-11 directly

Not to sure what I am doing wrong.
updated r4i gold 3ds (2012 one rev c) via NDS and confirmed wood firmware version.
Card works well on NDS but still gives load error message on 3DS.

Run the update function inside the Wood firmware.
Somewhere in the settings there should be an option.

Wood isn't firmware and is not what's used to determine DSi/3DS compatibility.

Ok I see. I did update wood firmware by presssing start and then update (which was done in post #1) from contents within
W00d_R4iG0ld_V1.58.rar actually a file is needed to update r4i 3DS..correct?

Wood is not firmware. Wood updates are not firmware updates.

The 3DS V4.4.0-10 Patch for R4i Gold 3DS (Sep.26,2012) ​

is what seems to be the latest, however if updating via original NDS which file should be used:
R4iGold3DS_3DS44_Patch_NDSi.nds or R4iGold3DS_3DS44_Patch_NDSL.nds Thanks!

Yes, that's a firmware update file.

Just a little bit more info..card and games do work on original NDS just not on 3DS

Your cart model can't be updated, you need a new one.

look at your card, you can see the number without opening it
see picture (spoilered due to large)

if its not 9,A,B,C
then your card cannot support the latest 3DS firmware
if its a C and still failing then it was part of a bad batch and you should contact the saller and they should exchange for a working rev C
