Okay, so I have a Supercard SD and 2 Supercard Mini SD's.

I've inspected the boards on the Mini SD models and they are authentic Supercards. I believe my original Supercard is authentic but it doesn't really matter because it works.

Now my issue is, my SC Mini's won't save. The firmware is the latest. I Pull up the built in Saver (L+R+A+SELECT I think) and I click save, and click yes. IT doesn't do anything.

I can however do the L+R+START+SELECT and return to the menu, click the saver tab and select my file and save that way.

Any idea why the built in saver function doesn't work? Thanks.

No clue why that isn't working, but it would be worth testing the cartridge with its internal diagnostics. Hold L+R as it boots and press A to advance through the screens. Let us know what version of the firmware you have as well.

Does it happen for all games or just the one you're testing now? Try a few different games, with different native save types.

Okay, so I posted earlier from work. I'm home now and I tried the self test... Everything is clear but I get an SDram error. Would this be related to my miniSD or the SC?

the SD ram error appears to be my micro SD card thats in the mini SD adapter sleeve.... We'll see if it saves......

Hm, that's a good question. Mine gets an "SDRAM Okay" message. I suppose you could try copying everything off the card, reformatting it, and copying everything back. You're using a real miniSD card, right? Not a micro-to-mini adapter?

EDIT: Heh, had this window for too long before replying I guess. Yeah, my best guess is the adapter. Try getting a real miniSD card off of Amazon or eBay and see if that helps. They're kinda pricey at the moment because the format never really took off before microSD came out.

well I swapped out the SD card and that fixed the error but it still won't save unless i return to the menu, select "saver" and select my game. not a big deal I guess, just annoying.

Well again, is this the case with all games you try to play? I honestly mostly used my SC MiniSD for DS-related stuff using a Superkey, so I'm not too familiar with troubleshooting GBA stuff on it.

Yep, I tried with Golden Sun (which gave me a different "backup battery not found" error -- I gotta SRAM patch it), Pokemon Fire Red which just did nothing, and some other games, can't remember off hand.

That's actually a good idea, and something I didn't even think of. Since you've got a proper miniSD Supercard, it can load full firmware updates rather than the *.scu half-assed updates from the Supercard Lite line. Just put the *.bin file in the root of the cart and it should prompt you to "update" the firmware upon bootup.

Though again I would highly suggest using a real miniSD card rather than a microSD card with a micro-to-mini adapter.

I've tried re-flashing the firmware before. It doesn't seem to have any effect. I'm going to try getting a MiniSD. What do I have to lose?

Aye EZ-Flash IV (which is what I own) can be funny with those adapters although the combo I have found works well but I always keep a 512MB Kingston MiniSD around I get nervous flashing from Micro with a adapter rather than the correct card.

Does that card have any inbuilt memory like EZF4's NOR memory might be worth clearing it as well kinda try to full reset the whole cart

Could try flashing one version back and trying just in case its a current FW bug and if not its no big deal to flash to latest again

Get that Poke DS fixed-UP so you have an 'instructional model' for the 'tech deficient', like ME! ;)

Time for the China order, yo!
