Hacking Supercard DStwo plug-ins

For anyone struggling with the format of the bmp files, here is a quick converter I put together.

Just drop the file onto the app's icon and it will spit out a filename_16bit.bmp for you.

it is a bit irritate

because this are not plugins, only plugins icons
and i dont think that many want download only the plugin icons and the .nds files extra.

So it were better, when you update the name
or

in future, include plugins + the .nds files

@creativ: they actually are plugins, however, only to launch programs from the start menu thingie.

@ Spinal_cord: just a small suggestion about your program - any chance when converting we get the Original graphics renamed to something like 'xxxxxx.bak.bmp' and having the converted graphic to keep the original name 'xxxxxx.bmp' instead of 'xxxxxx_16bit.bmp'. It's a pain having to rename the graphics

Made one for Beup Live. If people change the name of the .nds, they need to change the name of the .ini as well...

....without the .nds there are only icons und were shown in the start menu from dstwo Yes I agree that the thread title is a little misleading, & that these are really 'DSTwo Plugin ICONS' - but unless the OP asks for the title to be changed, there's not a lot that can be done

but what can i do with this ? - right, nothing WRONG !! ... You can download the NDS files (the links are there with the plugin on the first post) & install them as per each programs instructions (which is different depending on how the original developer had programmed it). The only thing you need to do differently is place the main programs .nds file in the '/_dstwoplug/' folder & not in the root directory.
Some of these programs are not developed anymore and us 'amateurs' cannot develop/modify the programs (epsecially without the source code) to work as 'proper' plugins like Supercard team does (although I did manage to setup the TextDS2 as a 'proper' full plugin)

Why not ?? - do you expect us to download them for you, see if they work or not, try & hack/modify them to see if it's possible..... Some of us DO have full time jobs to go to

So when i want to make icons, i can do it for myself, it is not hard to make them
but when i want to have plugins, i want the icons AND the .nds files

Why don't you put in the effort to download every nds file on that list and the plugins put them together and upload them??

They aren't just icons anyway, they also include configuration files (albeit simple ones), and including the .nds files mean that we have to continuously update the plugins when a new version of the homebrew is released, and I don't think any of us have the time to do that.

To satify 'creativ' need for 'complete' plugin packages - here's some I've tried out & work (note to alidsl: DSKiosk is a 'new' plugin)
To install: Extract all files into '/_dstwoplug/' folder unless otherwise stated

- If you have a '/data/' folder on your root, DSKiosk settings will be saved there
- If you DON'T have a '/data/' folder, a '/data/' folder will be created

- This one I used a HEX editor to change the path(s) from '/lmp-ng/skins/' to '/_DSTwoplug/'

To install: copy the 'data' and 'text' folders to the root of your DSTwo card
Copy the files in the '/_dstwoplug/' of the download, into the same '/_dstwoplug/' folder on your DSTwo card
- This one I used it's own PC setup program to set up the required directories

i realize that some of the plugins have already been covered, but i like variety and options.

all of these plug-in icons are gimped over to SCDStwo from my much to be praised akaio icon set. enjoy yourself. all pleasure in it =P

note: the .nds files are NOT included in this pack. you must venture out to the filetrip jungle and aquire the homebrews you desire yerself =P
