Setting it to IOS58 will only make the loader work, it won't make games work as they still need cIOS. Setting it to IOS58 is only useful for diagnosing if it's an issue with the cIOS or not.
But what you can try is installing a d2x cIOS with IOS58 as a base, maybe the homebrew USB 2.0 driver is having some issues with your drive? IOS58 has USB 2.0 built in. Note that not every game is compatible with IOS58.

I set the d2x v10 to base 58 and i put loader as 249...and game doesnt show up! without 58 it just does not show up?
if i have to use another loader what is the best one??

and is it the same method i can use ntfs or fat32?
and use backup manager to convert the games?

Wiiflow is pretty good.

I've tried wiiflow set to usb and..cIOS too 249

I don't think it's possible to load from usb.
Any other suggestions?

Do I need to refownlaod all the cIOS again?
If not thanks for the help. Will just have to stick to cds....
Try formatting it as FAT32 32k clusters (backing up any data on it first, of course), see if that helps.
