There are several Smash DS Homebrew games, like Clash and Crash, which work pretty well and have potential. Maybe we'll get an official one for 3DS, where hardware limtiations aren't a problem anymore

I thought they never tried to bring Jump outside Japan. Did I miss something?
They didn't because of legal issues but also because they didn't think it'd be popular, there's still a chance they'll make a new one but it definitely won't leave Japan.

But the bolded part I'm sure is the real reason.

I agree with you on that single line. If they thought the game was profitable they would have gone through those legal hoops 10000x over and even dumb down the game to make it worse.

Money is always the answer with EA.
Fixed that for you.
If what you said about legal hoops were the case, Ultimate Stars would have been released outside of Japan due to popular response ('twas the case of Gyakuten Saiban/Phoenix Wright).

I thought it was immensely popular in Japan.
When the next major anniversary for JUMP comes up, I'd expect an announcement or something.

And I know Nintendo didn't make it.
Oh, scrap that they published it.

an awesome ssb game would connect to the next version of the game if and when a new console comes out
it could connect and be used as a controler or be used to play online multiplayer on the same servers

The top screen could generally be zoomed into your own character. (...) I'd have the bottom screen take on a rather basic 2D perspective.

Switching between the upper stereoscopic screen and the bottom regular screen would be a total pain for your eyes.

True that, but a 3D effect would make for some good looking final smashes. Perhaps the top screen could be used for the game and the bottom could have your % damage taken and show teams.
Do not bring my hopes even higher!!!!

Are you saying play someone with a new console with the 3DS version because that would be awesome!

Even if a Jump was made, how do you guys hope to play it on yours american 3DS, with the console being region locked?

It would be really difficult to bring the game to the west, so a japanese 3DS would be necessary.

That's why they are talking about the posibilities of localization for it.

3DS Buzz: Which is more likely, Pikmin 3DS or Smash Bros. 3DS?

James Honeywell: In theory both are just as possible or likely – however neither title has been formally announced as being in development.

God... Do it PLEASE! xD
