DIF - The difference between an original iso and a compress iso(wiiscrubbed).

Inorder to revert back to the untouched iso you need a DIF from the game.

You get the DIF file by load the isos, compare and wiiscrubber will create it for you.

I just want to revert the wiiscrubbed iso back to the untouched version.

I see. But...isn't the DIF file just a bunch of random data (assuming it's not just all zero's)?

(you're saying that the DIF file is roughly what you get when you take the full 4.5 gigabyte datalayer of the DVD and then subtract the actual data of the game, right?)

EDIT: nevermind this...didnt notice the date of this post.

When you scrub a game, you can choose to create a .ISO file (the scrubbed game) only or a .ISO plus a .DIF file, so you can unscrub the .ISO file and have the untouched .ISO you had in the first place. The .DIF file contains every data that was replaced with zeros. I don't know if it's legal or not to post .DIF files (someone with better PC knowledge would have to comment on this) but I'm not sure if a different .DIF file is created if the region changes and/or the update partition is removed. I guess .DIF files need to be pretty specific, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, um, thanks for the necro-bump. = = Two and a half years holy crap.
Oops...totally didn't notice that.

@rezono: sorry to sound arrogant, but your wii CAN read scrubbed games. If the game doesn't play, it doesn't automatically means it is because it is scrubbed. So...please tell us what setup you have (and if so: what error message), so we can see what the real problem is.
