Not really, considering the original works on non-kiosk Wiis. A point which has been mention over nine thousand times already.

It's possible that it's just a conflict between the kiosk disc and none kiosk Wiis. We won't know for sure until we actually have a retail disc and from the sounds of it we don't.

..SPiko, we are far beyond those kind of questions, we have 43 pages of info I suggest you read them and skip over the flame wars.

We should be asking ourselves much more important questions.

Yet another patch
Just scooped this from an IRC-channel (usually a gr8 place to be to get the new stuff). Anyway, can't test it as i do not have the .iso. but this could really be the deal.

EDIT: This saved my day

PSX-scene couldn't take the pressure form obsessive Mario fans!

EDIT: Just saw the link. That sucks.

I D/L'd "! ! ! - Super_Mario_Galaxy_ReadNFO_Wii_PROMiNENT - ! ! !" off usenet this morning, and I just burned it. It updates my system, and shows Mario Galaxy in the disc channel sound and all, but once you load the game, it gives me an error. I'm using a wiikey that someone else installed for me, so I have no clue on what the settings are and all that. I'm assuming there's no way for me to play it?

woo cyclowiz has fix, so for wiikey users lets see

Chip came out update promised in april then we get a leaked update in september that forces them to rls a offical update...

at this rate except a wiikey update sometime in 2010

I'm a Wiikey user

The update will probably come out sometime next year!

Remember how hard it was for the last update to come? Now imagine this one.... :'(

I don't know about anyone else but this new "protection" makes me fear for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Plus i hope Wiikey gets on the ball and cracks this "protection"

EDIT: and for the people only looking at this one thread here is a quote from wiikey's site

[07.10.29] Issues with Super Mario Galaxy

Within the last 24 hours, we have received a huge number of emails from Wiikey users asking about the issues with the new Super Mario Galaxy game that are affecting all serial modchips. We would like to assure everyone that we are currently investigating the issues and will post a new announcement as soon as we have something to report.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and for your continued support. Although we cannot reply to each individual email, please be assured that all of your comments are being read and taken seriously.

This should be a good sign.

I'm guessing openwii users (like me) are screwed as it seems openwii development is stalled at the moment.

If there isn't a Wiikey update by November 12th Im buying a cyclowiz. :'(

i would do the same if i wouldnt have an wiikey..

but i hope it dont take long ..because the cyclowiz team managed it to release the update so soon..
then wiikey shouldnt take that much longer...

pal users have too wait till pal release so i dont need the update yet

[07.10.29] Update on Super Mario Galaxy Issue

In addition to the announcement made earlier today about Super Mario Galaxy, we are pleased to confirm that we have now identified the copy protection method responsible and created a fix.

In order to guarantee stability, we have had to make a fairly major change to the way the code works. While all tests have proven positive, the challenge now is to create a delivery system to allow existing Wiikeys to be updated.

As ever, we appreciate your patience and support while we do this.

Things are looking up!
