Probably just checking for an IOS you don't have. When I updated to 4.2, I popped in Animal Crossing (released before 4.2) and it asked for an update.

if this person has haacked wii and the game, you should ask him what happens whne he tries to play it via a usb loader.. itihnk thats a big important answer we need to hear for verification
