Hello everyone! With the new level editors for Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 coming out, I've been wondering if any of you would be interested in helping with a project named "Super Mario Galaxy 2.5". We are working on ideas for level design, logos, and music, while working under the limitations of a level editor.

Here is a link to the forum: http://supermariogalaxy2-5.com

We've already accumulated over 500 members, been featured on GoNintendo, Joystiq, and countless other websites for our project. We also have some well known hackers, such as MrBean35000vr working on the project, as well as some well known youtubers like Yoshiller playtesting and advertising.

We have made great progress recently and already have the ability to add custom music, custom animations, custom levels, custom textures, custom text, and even custom models with collision.

Multiplayer video:

Trailer:

The project's main goal is to completely revamp Super Mario Galaxy 2 with new music, levels, and cutscenes.

If any of you are interested in contributing concepts, full ideas, artwork, or music, it would be greatly appreciated! I'll leave some of the work done so far here:

Here's some model importing:

And a video (without textures):

There's much more on the forums, so contribute or just stop by!

It seems interesting, but I think everybody is waiting for the actual level-editor to be released (I heard of it), so they can see how well it works.

EDIT: Ah, so it seems it is already released, but not completely. It's only with some values and such.
For the average guy quite hard to work with...

Well, it's better to start with ideas now, right? I make sure every level idea on the forums can be done with what is already available, so we know that it will be possible in the future. Also, any artists or musicians, or even just people with ideas, you don't need to contribute anything more than ideas. Still, every member and every contribution helps, and will help us be prepared when a level editor DOES come out, at least, one that's easy to use.

You know what this reminds me of? The DS port of Dolphin

Just because you think you have an idea, it won't necessarily happen.

Worth a shot though, right?

We know a level editor will come out in the near future, and if not, one already exists, although it is difficult to use.

And a level editor that's capable of doing what we need DOES exist at the moment, it's just not available to the public yet. It was used by Mrbean35000vr to change the Grandmaster galaxy.

The project isn't completely based off of hope for a level editor, as I said, I'm making sure concepts that people have are within the capabilities of what we've already seen.

Some more level design concepts:

I also have personal permission from BowieZ to use all of his Super Mario Galaxy 2 custom music tracks.

Sure! I'll like to help out!I have many ideas for giving! i'll also do remixes and galaxies planning! please let me help out

Looks interesting.
I might be interested in this project. I'll come back and edit my post if interested.

I updated the forum, there's a little more eye candy for you now!

I've also added a live chat, and a COMPLETE guide for anyone confused about ANYTHING in the project.

wow, so you have everything except for custom levels for the game. what was the goal of the project again?

We don't have custom levels for the game because a 3D level editor isn't out yet. You need to edit using HEX, making it difficult and annoying to edit levels. A 3D level editor will be coming out later. Did you read the first post?

QUOTEI realize that no editor exists that is up to this task just yet, but we are working on ideas for level design, logos, and music, while working under the limitations of a level editor.
Editing levels is difficult on the editors released at the moment. We are creating level design for levels that are possible with current editors, which nearly guarantees their possibility to be created in the future.

The project was just recently started, I came here to find more people to work on it. If you want to wait until we show you actual level edits, fine by me

! We're working on creating a guide for Anarchy in the Galaxy, so some simple level changes will be shown most likely within the next 2 weeks. Here's some videos of level edits to watch while you wait, though:

(Youtube didn't work)

Bump.

We actually have someone who can make a level in a couple days now, so you should see a video of a hacked level pretty soon!
