Gaming Super Mario 64 DS or New SMB?

NSMB's much cooler than I thought it would be, yes. In fact, I'd probably go as far as saying it's the best platformer available for any handheld console. It combines elements that made previous Mario games (NES SMB's, SMW etc.) great and builds upon them by using current technology.

I hate 3D and the repetitiveness of getting stars in Mario 64 however NSMB was easy.....like UBER easy

Yeah, after playing for a while you'd have like, 40 lives... no way you're going to lose with that many to spare.

Best platformer ever? The original Sonic the Hedgehog.

I would buy them new super mario bros , since they are used to side scrolling mario games, also I don't see a 8-year-old kid collecting all the 150 stars and beating the end boss.

New super mario brothers here aswell. its easyier than 64 so for little kids its probbaly better for them. Also its a very nice game being simliar to the past mario games but with enough new features levals etc to be very entertaining.

Personally id say nsmb. I loved mario 64 but for the ds you want more portable quick play games.
