Ok, we got one solid fact, Super Mario 64 on the DS's controls are shit on a stick. You need a button to run, not walk, while using the directional pad, and using the screen is unplayable, ESPECIALLY with a screen protector on. You would need to grease your damn thumb up and watch the bottom screen to make sure your not oversliding the v-joy.

We have an awesome little thing called a 3DS now with an awesome little REAL slider. Yet I spent 4 days looking for a cheat that simply makes the d-pad run by default and walk when hitting the Y button. A fix that would have made the game playable even on the DS. But it doesnt't exist? WTF?

Anyway, on to the point. In light of the 3DS release, can someone post a code or at least hack the rom with a quick patch that does this so we can actually play the game in a playable fashion for once since it's release?

The 3DS isn't hacked yet, and by the way, it'd be pretty much impossible to access hardware the game doesn't know about nor knows how to access it (it's a DS game, how can you reprogram it to have access to something which didn't exist at the time?).

So don't put much hope in it.

LOL, what? That has NOTHING to do with a cheat for the flashcarts that let you do this or a rom patch that fixes it! Besides with DS games the slider acts like the dpad so they wouldnt need to know anything about the 3DS.

He's not asking for anything to do with the 3DS. He's asking for an Action Replay code or ROM patch that forces the game to run automatically and make the 'run' button cause Mario to walk.

And I don't think this exists.

I know, thats why Y would be remapped to walk.

Isn't there a cheat for sprinting or something? Like L+Up or something like that...

The objective is to NOT need extra buttons to run.

Here is the button map for Y

    92096b5c f7ff0800

Now put a speed modifier that makes you walk or a code that makes you permanantly walk under this like this, (followed by a terminator I see used)

    92096b5c f7ff0800
    xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx
    d2000000 00000000

And you have the first part of the code!

Put the speed modifier that always makes you run above it and you got the final result!

    yyyyyyyy yyyyyyyy
    92096b5c f7ff0800
    xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx
    d2000000 00000000

Now we just need those two parts, any help?

How would i go about Swapping button mapping in this game?
Can anyone point me to a program in which i can do this?

My goal is to swap button "Y" with "L". Making it possible to run with the L button.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
