Super Mario Bros. 2/USA has been skipped in cases like Super Mario Maker. Super Mario Bros. X had enough of its features, but I think Maker (and legal threats) pulled all the talent away. Still, SMB2 could use some attention. New official levels, new characters, an editor and servers for fan-made content, the works.

I still mourn SMBX.

Kind of. I'm hazy on the details, but I think Nintendo commandeered the main SMBX website, so loading up the original brings up Nintendo.com in the first window. There were branches of SMBX from various fans, but I don't know which one is "the" version to follow. Maybe SMBX2? Either way, it seems like the SMBX community scattered.

I know this is a display model only but if they didn't make it compatible/combinable with a motor set, it's a huge missed opportunity.

35th anniversary got it's own entire direct. However with the anniversary being pretty much right after the console is expected to launch it's hard to say.

Oh, definitely. They'll come in with their own kart set, and probably Luigi and Bowser as well. It's amazing how fast the, ahem, compatible sets come out. But I meant it's a missed opportunity for Lego.

Definitely. I'm tempted to buy the tuxedo cat from Ali instead because it's almost half the price.
