Is the only difference between the cyclo ds and the supercard their menus? I am getting really close to making a final purchase on my second flash cart and it is going to be one of those but I was wondering if the only real difference is their GUI. They all have the same features right? Price isn't a difference in my book so don't say price. Thanks in advance for your answers. If they are identical in features and only GUI varies I might just get the cyclo solely because of the tin it comes with or I might get the supercard because I like the font the logo is written on on the cart. If I can't decide I will just flip a coin.

Thanks for the help. I say this part of your post:

Also on the Supercard, some of its features like slow motion and such are actually cheats that have to manually be added to the games you want those features for and activate them manually in the cheat system I described above.

Can you explain that in full detail please? So the supercard doesn't really have an actual slo motion engine? It is all done through its tedious cheat system? Is that right? How disappointing.

No it doesn't, I think it's a separate program you need to download.

But the SC does have 2 things the Cyclo doesn't which are multi-saves and in-game cheat menu. These are both very useful features (more than slow-mo), unfortunately, SC users say that these are poorly designed. I don't know if Team Cyclops will implement these features or not but they're worth taking into consideration.

Yet price is different, and GUI as well.
You will find basically the same features in each card, each one has its pro, each of them has its cons.
Both of them have great support and their team are definitely reliable.
However I'd pick cycloDS, just by reading the advices about it. Its the top card atm, for many people, and I'd tend to think this too.
The only pain is the lack of multi game saves..
Anyway, the sticker on the Cyclo looks better, imho!

In game menu is in the new Beta and multi saves are being added soon.

No actual slow motion feature right out of the box, its actually an assembly cheat that can be enabled and disabled from the Supercard cheat file. Problem is, you will have to create or patch an existing cheat file with the slow motion cheat to actually use it. Its very tedious.

Wow, that's a bummer. I was hoping that wasn't the case. I love DX so I kind of wanted to order from there but now I have to order somewhere else because I want a cylco. Can we please just spam DX customer service PLEASE and tell them to please please please with a cherry on top to bring back the cyclos for $34. I want to buy it from DX because I have to pay shipping at real hot stuff. Anywhere free shipping?

It should also be noted that the SCDS1 has a really horrible save file naming convention. Instead of doing it right and using the long filename (like nearly every other flashcart), it uses the short MS-DOS filenames.

If you have a rom with a filename of "Game With A Long Filename.nds", the save file will be named "GAMEWI~1.SAV". If you also have a rom named "Game With An Even Longer Filename.nds", the save files for the two roms will be named "GAMEWI~1.SAV" and "GAMEWI~2.SAV".

Golden: dealwoot.com has it for $55 $53 with free shipping. At realhotstuff.com it's just over $50 plus shipping if you use the coupon code "SAVE5".

Wow, thanks for tell me all this stuff about the supercard guys. Good thing I am starting to reconsider. Also, the main thing that I am worried about is that I have heard that realhotstuff has the old versions of the cyclo with old hardware and they are still shipping those out. Can anyone tell me what to ask of them when I email them to make sure what version they have?

My friend bought one (a black one) from Real Hot Stuff about 2 weeks ago, and it was not the old hardware. It seems to be a new batch, because the issue with the memory card sticking out a few millimeters is fixed.

Hi,

I currently have the cyclo ds and have previously had the supercard ds one.
The cyclo ds is heaps better then the supercard by far.
By an ez 3 in 1 and you can load gba roms straight from the cyclo menu.
Team cyclo ds are always listening to there customers and are currently the most active forums of any flash cart.
Apart from a little down time on there forums all is good now.
They release beta firmware so everyone can test and report bugs then they release a more stable version.
I love my cyclo ds and would not change it for anything.

Cheers

I don't see how any flash card can top the Cyclo now. I was happy even without any of those features.
To Topic Creator: get the Cyclo.

Ok, I am just about ready to make up my mind between the two. Can someone just tell me what the latest version of cyclo is so I can make sure by asking realhotstuff via email(just want to make sure). Is it version3.0? Batch 4? Or what is it?

I'm sure that RealHotStuff ships the latest version. Someone recently bought one from them and it came with firmware 1.4, which isn't the newest firmware but it still means it's the latest hardware.

I don't think this is a problem with hardware revisions. I have a fairly old Cyclo and my uSD does not stick out at all.

The memory card not fitting flush was indeed a problem with one or more batches of Evos. It started some time after they fixed whatever it was that was causing a huge number of defective units, and people complained bitterly as though it mattered.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
