sunshine and moonlight ps vita game freezes when laptop lid is closed

I wasn't sure where to post this question. But I got sunshine on my laptop and moonlight on my ps vita. I'm trying to play ps2 games on the ps2 emulator but every time I close my lid the game freezes up on my ps vita. I've already changed my settings to do nothing with the lid closed and that hasn't changed anything. Do you guys have any ideas? or is it even possible? I was planning on playing ps2 games in bed without dragging my laptop there.

What settings did you change? Power settings? Screen fade, or something?

You can just turn the screen off if you have that key combo available, and let it rip.

These are the only settings that I changed.
Also I'm on windows 11 and a msi raider ge68 hx 13v laptop.
Also I don't care that the screen is on I mainly just want the laptop lid closed. I don't want my cats hopping on my laptop while I'm not there.

Edit:Update in case anyone comes across this thread for help. I ended up getting an hdmi dummy plug in order to use my gpu with the lid closed.
