preface: i don't know shit about programming and i understand very little of what's been uncovered about VC games, so please don't make fun of me.

theoretical question:

if the vc ticket references a certain heading or title in the VC game code... instead of installing a separate ticket with every game could the information in the VC games be changed to match just one ticket? that way we can have a universal ticket purchased legally that can allow the installation of many backed up games with a matching title and still read as only one game in the system.

it's probably more involved than that...

I read somewhere that a wad made with the ticket of another game just erase the game that was previously installed (overwrite the channel)

Wouldnt it be great if they would make a ticket collection so that we can download the games directly from the shop?

No, that would be silly.

Think about it. Your account has ZERO Wii Points. Yet Nintendo's servers start showing activity (downloads) to your Wii. They cross reference all accounts that have had no Wii points purchased or gifted who have downloaded games, and then start banning consoles.

At least if you do pirate and install the Wads, you (in theory) should be safe, unless you start downloading the games via Wii Shop after deleting them. I don't believe that Nintendo has the right to check your console on the off chance you have illegally installed VC games. I'd bet that's against most privacy laws in most countries.

So does this mean you could install new VC games over the top of ones you have purchased (when you get bored of them) and your console would not show up anything irregular in the shop.

i.e. new game WAD with ticket for purchased game!

This is possible and has been done. It is, of course, more involved than that, but that has been done. The ticket from DK Jr (?) was edited to work with another rom and apparently it worked great. We'll see how this all plays out.

what example are you talking about?

I can't find the post right now, but someone was messing with the WAD packer and managed to get it to work using a method very similar to this. I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure this has been done.

that would be much easier but it's highly risky as if we download stuff from the store with 0 points in our account it will look suspicious to nintendo.

Also it is much easier to manage space with Wii Shop. Don't have to worry about memory full problem because Wii Shop does not allow download if your Wii has insufficient space.
