Hey there! Ive modded a couple of wii consoles already and its always been pretty straightforward.

But i a got a hold on to a 2.2E console and i dont think there is anyway possible to modding this one.
All guides are for wii game consoles AT LEAST on 3.0.. To get there, afaik, the only way is through official nintendo update which gives me error 32004 no mather what i do. Im absolutely sure there nothing wrong with my connection or anything. The connections test goes fines, then the update status bar keep unchanged for a while, than it grows a bit and the error pops. Every time!

Theres not any softmodding ever done with this afaik because of the software version 2.2 not being able to be updated.

The Wii is working ok as it came with 3 old games and theyre all functioning pretty fine.

So what i want to know is:
- Is there anyway to mod this 2.2E without the Zelda method or updating it to newer versions? I dont own Zelda and i would need a European copy which is definitely not easy to do here in my country. All i want is a way to boot HBC somehow and then let PimpmyWii do its job
- Can i update the firmware in any other way? Some people say that newer games come with the updates inside, but i've read online that even then the error persists.

Anyway any help appreciated.

Don't use Pimp my Wii. People call it Brick my Wii for a reason.
You don't have the update servers blocked in your router do you?
You may need to find a disc with a 3.0+ update on it. There should be a lot of them. I'm not sure, but I think homebrew has issues on firmware versions below 3.0.

What games do you own? Any of the exploit titles? If so just try one of those. If you can run the HBC you can manually update. Should be able to use modmii to download all the files needed and walk you through the update/MOD process.

tnx everyone!
I have regular Wii Sports; Dragon Ball Budoukai Tenkaichi 2 and a GameCube Harvest Moon.

Official nintendo games discs are relatively rare to find here in Brazil, as modding was always so easy, and the prices for the original game discs here were always beyond absurd.

but i'll try to do some connection changes before try anything else. Like turning the pass into WEP; 802.11 G/B connection or something old

No, what I meant is that Wii games are about $6 :rofl2:
And you say they're beyond absurd :rofl2: well I'm sorry, but you will have to BUY a game once in your life. I'm really sorry but you will have to take this hard step and pay those 10$!
10$? try adding anywhere between four to six zeroes.

You surely dont live in South America pal... an european game here is not only almost impossible to find, as its price is over the one of the own console most of times.

How about using Amazon or Ebay or something similar, surely you can fine a European game to update your console with.
