Hacking Strongbad on Japanese Wii

  this game is supposed to work on a japanese Wii. However I have tried to play it on my 3.3J and it it gave me an error (I think region error) and then I used 'freetowads' on both switching it to Japanese rom and region free rom and it will go to the white controller screen warning and then wont go past that.
  
  Has anyone played on Strongbad on a Japanese wii that can help me?

Use wwpacker instead of freethewads.

Extract wwpacker, put the key file.
Drag the wad file to __wwunpacker, you would get a new folder.
Drag the new folder to _wwpacker-ios35-plus
In the WGLP step, select (1) auto NTSC-U and English. Bypass the following steps. You would get a new wad file finally.
Rename the new wad file. That's all.

Got it working earlier today. Now am happy, although prob prefer to play the PC version under 1920x resolution.
