Stocking up

Found a bunch of different Monster flavors recently so I stocked up and now I'm set for the next week or two.







Monster Assault is probably my favourite flavor of the bunch, not because it's any good or anything, but pure personal preference. It's sweet, syrupy, and the most generic artificial cola flavor you can find, but I love it. They haven't been available here for years now so I had to stock up. And they were on sale so I bought a whole bunch but then I drank them.

Khaotic and Aussie Lemonade were also on sale. I definitely recommend Aussie Lemonade, it's sour and refreshing, very much unlike their other flavors.

Viking Berry and Cosmic Peach Nitro and Peaches & Cream are not in local distribution but imports, they were $6 a pop and I'm an idiot.

And thinking back I tried the Nitro one before, didn't leave much of an impression since I already forgot it.
Same for the Viking Berry, I'm sure I had it before and completely forgot.
And I dislike cream sodas so peaches & cream are a risk.

Also, fucking shrinkflation, those last two cans are smaller but probably cost the same as the full sized cans.

I've never seen the Viking berry one locally.
Some of my favourites are: Mango Loco, Rehab, Ultra Paradise and Bad Apple. Some of the limited editions based on partnerships were also nice, but they're gone now.

I haven't seen any size difference, they've always been 50cl over here.

Yeah I love Mango Loco, Bad Apple is not available here so I only had it once but I liked it, and Rehab is my second favourite, I love the fact it's not carbonated.

The smaller cans are 470ml. All the flavors we get locally are 500ml, the imports are 470, but I'm afraid they may be a sign of things to come. The shrinkage.

I don't think they'll reduce the cans, more than likely they'll just keep increasing the prices.

A few years ago a can cost 1€, nowadays it costs 1,45€ per can.

I haven't tried any of them. Maybe because i haven't found them yet.

My favorites are: Lando Norris, Mango Loco, Rio Punch and Bad Apple.

Our cans (and most places' cans) are (and have always been) 500 ml and I believe yours are a bit bigger, probably explains why the imports are smaller. We have viking berry locally here, I haven't tried it.

Okay, on a serious note, the difference is just the imperial vs metric measurements.
500ml is half a liter, 473ml is 1/8 gallon.

I finally got to the Peaches & Creme one, it's horrible. Flavor's not too bad, heavy on the peaches, not so much on the cream, but it's so fucking sweet. It has 30 grams of sugar to begin with but then it also has sucralose to really hammer it in. SO FUCKING SWEET. Can't take it. Not good.

Tried the Viking Berry one today. I liked it. They tried to emulate lingonberry but didn't really want to commit to anything. Their description says it was "inspired" by "Nordic berries" and it doesn't actually contain any lingonberry (unless it's hiding in the "natural flavors" in the ingredients list) but they did a decent approximation. It's sour and slightly tart, despite having more sugar than the peaches & creme one and being diabeetus in a can.

Would buy again.

The viking berry was pretty good iirc I discovered it around Xmas.

Just tried Ultra green paradise sour green apple not horrible.

Some new finds.




The Ultra golden pineapple is not larger, it's just empty. It's not bad for a zero sugar drink, nice and mellow pineapple, doesn't have as much of an aftertaste as the other Ultras. I've had Bad Apple before, it's good.

Whats the vr 46 one about some exclusive thing?

It's a collaboration with the race driver Valentino Rossi, and 46 was his motorcycle's number and the number he always chose and wore for races, so "VR|46"
His nickname is "The Doctor" so the first flavor they did was a lemon and orange soda thing called "The Doctor"
