Stock HDD, replacement

If I was to switch my stock HDD to a larger one, could I stick the original in again later on without any issues OR would the removed stock drive need to be unlocked, formatted, etc to be used again in the same console.
Xbox is hard modded.

Just take out the stock drive and keep it safe somewere ;]

You can always switch it back with ease.
