I finally made the move to Atmosphere yesterday, I think mainly based on the fact of how long the update from them has taken.

Not all that bothered about XCI loading or USB loading - yes they're very nice features but in all honesty I don't think I've ever actually used them, if you have a large micro sd card NSP's are just great.

Would be nice if a patch comes along to make DevMenu work, that'd be the only thing I don't have that I'd like to have.
So you do not use xci and use only nsp? In your case atmosphere is better than sxos, I do not like to use nsp for games, xci is far more convenient because if you have a lot nsp they are never ordered is to look for them and they require double space

Hi... It all comes down to personal preference, for me I do actually prefer NSP, possibly because I came from the 3DS which had the cia format which I liked.

For many XCI are loved and still very useful, but not a massive loss for me personally.

I'm in a different boat.
Officially on 7.0.1 for legit stuff and 5gb Emunand of 6.2.0 on separate SD card running XCI only.
I like that I can move those files around freely when I want to,not bogged down with installs on the sd card

Devmenu is working. Every nsp is working as long as you have sigpatches.

I would love to read your guide about how to shrink user partition on emunand.
Thanks.

Wish I had a guide on that for you bud.
I didn't use trickery or anything of the sort xD

I made a nand backup before I did anything else.
Then created an emutendo folder from my Nintendo folder on the SD card.
Used SX to create system split nand(the original solution they came out with -where you can chose the allocation split. I just chose 5gb with user partition included).
Once it did its thing, I booted it to make sure it was 100%,after which I used sx to migrate to SD card( option 2, not hidden partition because I can't move that as easily).
Once migration was done I had a 5gb Emunand on SD that I could move around where ever xD

And then restored my nand

Devmenu does work with signature patches.

In all honesty I was impressed with XCI loading as I used it but nah I'd stick to NSP's. Only reason why I got sx os was for EmuNAND and then I can switch someday to AMS. Since I like to go online so yea. Dont bother for XCI loading (useful at homes). or get a type C cable for harddrive and directly connect it to charger and be in an awkward position of adjusting your switch or just play it on a flat surface.

Can I simply use Kosmos to move from SX ? I am only using NSPs so from i have read as long as I have the sig patches i should be ok?
Just wanting to make sure I don't have to reinstall my games c;

Also, the main reason I want to use AMS/KOSMOS is purely for homebrew. On this I need some help. Since I just realized something. I am willing to use homebrew via AMS/KOSMOS. Sure SX OS will still be there for NSP/XCI but its homebrew support it just so horrible.
I want to know weather if I access stuff via HBL, will I need to backup beforehand and restore my NAND like before. Or can I freely use homebrew.
Lets assume I want to go online in the future so will I need to do a backup and restore? Or can I just launch AMS CFW and just use Homebrew freely while connected to the internet and use 90DNS to block the servers from communicating with Nintendo? I really want to play retro stuff and use the HBL for other different things as well. So on my SysNAND I launch CFW and use AMS for retrogaming. What do you guys suggest. (Leave SX OS out of this since I'm using it for NSP/XCI atm).

Also I recently launched payloads and different Bin files. I know it will not affect me getting Banned by Nintendo but just to be on the safe side. This does not affect getting banned right? (I.E Launching Bin files like Memloader or Hekate) (Im being PARANOID, I KNOW).

This is because I just used Lockpick RCM to get my keys for version 7.0.1. So that's why.
As I do have AMS in my SD card alongside SEPT but I still have not launched CFW on it on my latest SysNAND.

Personally, i would never trade my clean online sysnand / dirty offline emunand combination with anything else. Why would i at the moment anyway?

Do i have to insert my jig/dongle when i want to boot to emunand? yes!. Is it annoying or bothering me? no!.

Can i go online with my clean sysnand without any thought of being banned? yes!.

Do i have to be careful with anything when being online? no!.

Can i be on 8.x on my sysnand and still enjoy my 7.x emunand till a patch is comming? yes!.

Is every game i ever tested working fine with emunand? yes!.

Are emulators working with my emunand? yes!.

Can i have themes with emunand? yes!.

Can i do anything that comes to my mind with my emunand, mess around as i please without the fear of anything happening to my switch because i can simply backup my emunand by copying it? yes!.

Can i switch to 6.x or 5.x by simply renaming my emunand folders on my sd card? yes!.

In the end it is a personal decision based on a simple pro/contra list. But i just don't see the advantages switch to a cfw without emunand.

Maybe to have a CFW that is the most up-to-date, remember 7.x support? Took SX over a month to get that going. Or external kip support, another topic that SX hasn't.
It makes no sense to discuss pro and contra between SX and Atmosphere, since everyone has different needs. My Switch is banned, I don't use Emunand, I don't care about external HDDs - the only thing I use that is SX specific is xci loading (which I can drop at any second) and installing from USB (which, apparently, is on the way for other CFW but not yet implemented).

Congratulations on telling us what EmuNAND does.
Everyone has own preferences/needs. I dont care about online, xci or USB. I do care about kips. So SX OS makes no sense for me.

As yall know, Atmos a free CFW has constant updates and all and seems really good and all.
However I purely use EmuNAND and my SysNAND has been restored to a clean state. (I can go online).
However, I'm not banned at the moment and have remained cautious which is why I went to EmuNAND.
However Atmosphere is good for great homebrew support and all, however I really want to play NSP's using atmosphere. One day I want to go online so I will have to restored my Nintendo Switch. So should I switch? Btw my switch is on the latest update with a NNID linked.
I have a NAND backup of 6.2.0. (So yea I am going to have to use AutoRCM if i want to downgrade, then upgrade then create a CLEAN (without NNID) copy of my 7.0.1 Switch FW). (Only If I am willing to go online in the future and/or maybe use a different NNID).

ALSO, If lets say I go online and use 90DNS. Will it flag me for having faketickets installed? Lets say I use Switch LAN play also for using online? What are the chances?

I have EmuNAND and a restored SysNAND like I said and seems I have not been flagged at the moment.
I would say wait for emuNAND in Atmosphere. It's being worked on.
