Hacking StartPatchv4.0

Okay, so I think i'm about ready to make the jump to 4.0 and use startpatch (I was going to use preloader) but before I do am I right in saying:

1)"hacks" are easily applied and removed
2)Startpatch is easy to upgrade
3)Startpatch is easy to remove (Unlike preloader which requires sys menu reinstallation)

Also has anyone tested the recovery menu out with an actual brick? i'm assuming it just as easy to unbrick as starfall?

Lastly is there any particular reason why not to use this over preloader? (I don't see one)

Assuming all that is true, i'm good to go and grats to aquilino.

Edit for clarification: I'm looking particularly at the region free hacks (both game, sd and channels), recovery menu, update skip.

I have preloader 0.29 (or 0.28, can't remember) already installed right now on system menu 3.2E and am wanting to update to 4.0 when i get back to uni.

Is there really much difference in this and the preloader with 4.0 hacks?

AutoUpdate? There´s nothing in the Firmware, that ables to that, said some people.
Only in the new Aggrements of 3.4 stands, that they´re allowed to do that, without asking you.

I installed StartPatchv4.0

I had to install ios36 1042 though but once I i did, StartPatch installed. Then I re-installed cios36 1042 rev 9.

Preloader installed?

I have an orginal NTSC Wii with 4.0 system menu. I had this same exact problem before I installed Preloader 0.29, but it only happened on part 2 of the the VC region free patch. Everything else patched perfectly fine. I have since installed Preloader, and I tried to use the newest Startpatch to region free VC games on SD, but get "The patch section was not found in the DOL. Nothing to do." It sounds like the NTSC version has problems, and I have no idea if it's in the programming, or a conflict with something else.

i'm sure preloader .29 can be removed even though i don't want to.the way to remove it is probably the same way as the other preloaders hack remover i believe that is what it is called.
