By "Region Free" and "Region free channels" does this mean:

1. I can play other region Wii games in my disc channel?

2. Can I install and play other region WADs?

Is it safe to update to 4.1U with some of these patches installed?
Whatever you use to update should be fine, it'll just wipe out the hacks, so you'll have to redo them with the 4.1 version.

I update the official 4.1U Nintendo and the Disc Menu don't work my original imported games... then i tried to execute the StartPatch, but appears the error -1017 and i reinstall the IOS36 and ok... then i tried to execute the StartPatch again, but the error appear "Error: -106". What error is this??

Helping me...

First of all, don't bold all your text.

Second, do you have a cIOS installed? If not, try installing it. I *think* this version of StartPatch requires a cIOS (or an older version of IOS36).

I'm having the same problem as T-rex. I reinstalled cIOS 36 but still no luck. I would really like to use these patches on Menu 4.1U.
Edit: I actually downgraded to 4.0U and I am still getting error -1017.

There was an error bug of IOS36 or some IOS fault and you need re-install, dude.
I'm brazilian (yeah... yesterday Brazil wins with great 4x0)... so, my english doesn't good, but ok...

Proceed the steps to resolve your problem of error -1017:

1- First go to HBC and execute the "WAD Manager 1.3" (not confuse with "WAD Manager 1.3-IOS16", ok) and install "IOS36-64-v1042.wad". After install this, press the Home button to reboot Wii.
2- Go to HBC and execute the "WAD Manager 1.3-IOS16" to install the wad "IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad". After install this, press the Home button to reboot Wii.
3- Now go to HBC again and execute the "WAD Manager 1.3" (not confuse with WAD Manager 1.3-IOS16, ok), and install the wad "cios_fix.wad". After install this, press the Home button to reboot Wii.
4- Go to HBC again and execute the "cIOS36_rev8-Installer". Select the "WAD Installation".
5- Done

Now try to execute the aplicative "StartPatch", dude!!
Good Luck!!
