as the title says im getting some really laggy games with friends in just neighboring cities with the JAP version will the USA version run any better or is it our connections?

I'm almost certain nintendo uses a peer to peer for their connections and not a dedicated server, if you were lagging in the japanese version playing certain ppl I don't think the US version will be any different.

I totally agree. As when you are playing your friend, you are doing this thru friend codes, given that you live in the states. The friend codes have nothing to do with the nintendo japanese server. You and your friend connect through your own internet, so this means that it has nothign to do with nintendo and when you ge the USA version, it will be the same.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
