So I've installed the Splatoon 3 NSP, the 10.1.0 update, and the associated DLC.

When I however try to load the game, it gets stuck at the Switch logo animation and refuses to actually load the game.

The HorizonOS version installed is 19.0.1 with the appropriate sigpatches. It's possible that 10.1.0 requires a higher version, however my searching yielded fuck-all.

NXFileViewer lists the "required" firmware for game/update/dlc files. It reports 20.3.0 for the 10.1.0 update. However, what is listed is not always accurate and can sometimes be played on lower fw. You could try installing sys-patch from here, then reboot your Switch and see if it works. If not, I believe there are ways to patch the files to work on older FW, but that doesn't always work. Ive never done it but I'm sure someone else can point you in the right direction to try that is sys-patch doesn't do it. Or a search would probably bring it up.

Sys-patch is here and many people have stopped suing sigpatches altogether:

My guess firmware is too low, since firmware 19.0.1. is October 2024, not sure if you can patch it to run on a lower firmware, I mean if you really want to play then you would have to update, firmware 20.x.x ain't that bad, there is some tweak and fix make it usable, there is an new EULA that cause battery problem that can be fixed, the rumor slowdown is true though. So up to you if you want to update or not or stuck on 19.0.1

Where would you get those patches to make 20.x bearable?
Post automatically merged:

So I updated to HorizonOS 20.5, and the game works flawlessly now - guess it really was just an old version that did it, but it's weird that no update nag was shown.
