it'll probably be just as easy as the last few consoles, nintendo is extremely behind on security.
Doubt it. There has been no easy exploit for the Switch after Nintendo patched the Tegra exploit in later revision Switch systems. It's going to be modchips which is just as difficult to install, and not for the average joe.

Guys, stop!! This thread has zero purpose right now. The truth is it could be super easy to hack or it could be near to impossible to hack. We could find an exploit within a day or it could take ten years before we can find one. The truth is nobody knows since nobody has a console in their hands.

This is kinda the fun aspect of this site. Every time Nintendo does a release of a new console, it is deemed to be “unhackable”. There’s no doubt that they will patch all known exploits, but old-heads in this scene know how smart and ingenuous “our” engineers are.

Every system that can be updated can eventually be exploited. Sometimes it’s years after release and other times it’s days. For me, I’ll go legit/offline to enjoy the new first party titles. Until then, I think I have a good reason to come back here to speculate with the world and other tempers on what may come.

I was gonna make a new post about it, but seeing this thread exists I might as well add it on here:

Is it me, or does the whole "virtual game cartridge" system seem massively exploitable?
Moreover, from the Nintendo Direct, they've shown an older Switch sending a game to a Switch 2... So I'm thinking if that method might be, at some point, useable to inject a Homebrew channel, or something similar. Especially considering the Switch 1 is already a console that has been hacked and can run CFWs.
I guess in the end it depends on how the systems will check if the games are legit...

We already can share game updates from one Switch to another, and that has still never been exploited, but yea you never know.

Nintendo hackers have a special condition that makes them dedicate their life and soul to crack Nintendo hardware. I give the Switch 2 a month.
I'd say atleast a year, and then it will require a modchip install. Why would the Switch 2 be easier to crack than the V2 Switch 1?

Why? Are you coding it right now? lol, don't answer that. Rhetorical question.
Looks more like a switch+ than a successor. Pretty much same hardware and it looks like it will have the same OS. Also would explain why Nin went extra hard on emulation lately.

But it’s all guesses so 😋

I hope people have their expectations in check. I have a good feeling that this is going to be a tough nut to crack. We'll probably at least get a modchip in 2 years. But expecting anything even remotely close to how easy the V1 is cope.

Look like they did added Denuvo on Switch 2 game.

Yeah modding and custom fw maybe possible but I don't think pirate or emulator are gonna works anytime soon

But it's incredibly exciting to just think about it and discuss it with others. So why not – let's just talk about it!

Sometimes I miss things, but where does this say Denuvo? All I see is a physical license key for a digital game. It behaves as if the software were on the card (card required to play) but the game itself resides on the internal storage or SD card.

I think what the user wants to say is that it will be much more difficult to develop emulators without the Switch 2 being jailbroken because we have no access to the game files.

Looking at how invested Nintendo was to shut down further development of emulators, its highly possibly they took further measures trying to secure their systems, but Im sure intelligent minds will appear sooner or later to overcome all of that

So switch 2 physical games are just blank cartridges that will enable an online download. That will force you keep the system on latest firmware inorder to play current games. Just for that, the Switch 2 has be hacked! Hate this overpriced digital only anti consumer bullshit!
