guys i am afraid by posting this i made nintendo aware about the possibility of a mod and now they're ironing out all chances against a modchip to function
Don't lose sleep over it. I think Nintendo was aware of any possibilities of the new console being hacked before you typed the first letter of your post.

I feel like Nintendo Went through all the means necessary to not let us mod them switch 2 and that’s why It took so long.

I hope it'll be hacked, since unhacked consoles are restrictive and boring
and since they won't learn from MS it's up to us to hack it eventually
Post automatically merged:

But a first release model and hope for a fuselee situation
though RCM will be possiable most likely the payloads MUST be signed by a private key like patched v1's switches

Many people dedicate their life to hacking Nintendo hardware for some reason. I give it a year.
Same bud the hacking scene on nintendo is just on another level...it's not the lame Playstation scene just cash grabbing everything and then releasing it 3 years later THAT'S TRASH

i'd expect extreme defensive measures from nintendo this time.
They are clearly aware of the scene, githubs, and more and they truly truly hate it.

Japanese devs really hate hate hate it when you edit their stuff apparently.
Resident Evil creator Capcom thinks mods are the same as cheating

Also, I'll add that people reaaaally want their free games and hacked pokémon. Some just can't live without those, so we are guaranteed to have a dedicated team working on it.

this. this is probably the one time where you expect nintendo to really crack down, while an exploit (if possible) may take a minute i expect any people to get frustrated than ever before trying to figure one out as judging how much has been leaked
last year from nintendo i genuinely don't see why they wouldn't be more secure but that's not to say this all will be impossible
just alot more difficult as if there's a will there sure as hell is a way.

It'll definitely be modchipped. I think the Switch 2 will mark the end of Nintendo softmods which will really kneecap the scene forever

the more important thing anyways is emulation. It doesn't matter whatever happened to Ryujinx and Yuzu, there's gonna be a demand for an emulator of this system and combined with the insane similarities of the architecture it's probably not going to be much harder to emulate than Switch 1 (in terms of getting it working. System requirements for good performance are a whole different ballgame)

just get used carts, in my area there's a store nearby that sells secondhand switch games for somewhat cheap

Yes, of course it's a possibility, but in my area, the stores that resell used Switch games have a price almost equal to their retail price, i.e. around 5 - 10 euros cheaper.

For second-hand, I still find it super-expensive ahah, so that's why I hope there'll be a soft mod (or hard mod at least).
