I really suck at those things but one thing is sure, i want to download SoundHax so that i can downgrade my 3ds xl,
the problem is that i tried downloading SoundHax and when i lay the sound file it says that the file is impossible to open.
i am using a sdhc mircosd with the adapter , really, i don't even know what that means, and i am not even sure if i spelled it right but i really need help.

Please follow this guide.
It is noob-proof, and if you follow carefully the steps and you don't make something stupid, I can guarantee that you can install safely CFW.

There is an Italian version too so please, before posting here check it out.
There is also the Discord channel ;)
I suggest to use that and not GBAtemp...anyway, your choice!

The guy doesn't understand English very well and I was just helping him geez
While we understand the reasoning, you should try you're best to maintain the conversation English only.. GBAtemp is very strict with it xD

But hey, you still helped him so that's 10/10 in my book :P

Hardmod is fine if you know what you're doing/know someone who has soldering experience, or are paying a trusted person to do it for you. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

I prob shouldn't be getting involved in case a certain user starts claiming I'm wrong and he is right, however it all depends on how confident you are with a soldering iron. If you're not best wait for the ntrboothax.
Or you could buy a cheap 2ds(as long as it's 11.3 or below), hack that then do the 3DS.

i watched around and i saw things like this:
it is CRUCIAL that you know/have experience soldering.
because most likely YOU WILL BREAK YOUR DEVICE.

really, i am a beginner with those things and ... idk what to do D:, i am scared to do something wrong or miss something.

Then either buy a 2DS, hack it, follow the guide to use the 2DS to hack you're other console with DSIWarehax, and sell the 2DS to someone, or wait for ntrboothax

what is the ntrboothax?

A not yet released exploit for 3DS, it will allow user to hack their 3DS and install CFW with a DS game, and a magnet (and a powersave or a already hacked 3DS)

i am totally new with this, can you explain it in simple words, what is "exploit", "CFW". btw i got a ds without a card, i just have an r4 that i wanted to use for the 3ds to play rom hacks.

Hard to explain because i'm not english.

An exploit, i'd say it's a bug you use/exploit (in an unexpected way) to gain code execution or something (for Wii U, "installing" our own system calls)
And a custom firmware (CFW) is just a firmware but customized, like sigpatch so you can install non-legit CIA to your home menu, Luma CFW v8.0 even bring a new system module that is very complete, called Rosalina.

OFW, is the firmware made by Nintendo. CFW is a modified firmware, i don't know if it's clear for you, but i tried at least

so an exploit is a bug that makes you do something unexpected.

btw what king of compatible flashcart? the r4 is not good?

they haven't released any flashcart list as of now, they said they'll release everything when more flashcart are compatible (including games of course)
I can't tell if R4 is compatible

We don't know for sure which flashcarts will be compatible, and you should wait until ntrboothax is released before buying anything. We also don't know how long it will be before it's released.
