I installed modified software on my system and connected to psn, foolishly of course. Anyway, around Xmas last year, Sony banned both my console my PSN account. I kept getting an error code .didn't find what it was. Then a week later I got my email saying I was banned. 10 + yr old account and games gone .oh well, I'll just pirate the shit outta those games now. Lol

exactly my thinking. sony has lost my business. I won't give them a dime now. I'll just pirate and buy systems used. :D

So you guys won't buy anything from sony because they punished you for pirating games? I'm no saint either, but your morals are kinda twisted lol.

What do they have to gain though?
It's not about gaining, it's more about not losing. There are games that are still played on ps3, like 2018 sports games, Minecraft and some other online-based games.

I never said I pirated any games before I was banned. in fact, my system had no games on it when I was banned. there wasn't an external hdd attached either.

Just not buying anything for the PS3. Means pirating the shit out of those games now. I know I was the reason I got banned. Never said I wasn't at fault. Lil miffed about losing the account, but whatever.

I just keep logging in (with PSNinja and PSNPatch obviously) to sync trophies.
The reason I got it modified was to use the ps3xpad plugin (making my Dualshock 4 fully compatible with the system since Sony won't do it)

So far, so good.

Just use PSNPatch for me. I heard the way old way PSNinja deletes your whole history makes it look obvious to Sony's newer checks.

Seems to be working as I've used my account on 3 hacked PS3s and no ban.

Its all speculation, its better to have your entire history wiped and look suspicious that way, than for them to look into your history and see a bunch of unsigned apps opened.

I'll stay speculative. Had 2 friends get their PS3s banned the weekend of the big hack using Ninja with Patch.

Ya, the weekend when the big web exploit that let's you CFW almost any PS3 came out.
Obviously, they were on the look out.
So I bet they were analyzing each and every individual PS3 system that was online, there's no escaping that.
Once they a deeper look into your system, you're done.

For me, the issue is HOW they do it.

Many people accept that a hacked console means it can be banned from connecting online. Fair enough, that's something more people accept and I don't have an issue with that.

The issue I have is that Sony goes an extra mile and does something others don't. They ban your ACCOUNT as well! All your digital purchases? Everything you ever spent money on? Gone! All your other systems connected to that account that aren't even hacked? Gone! It's absurd, I am fine with banning the console, but banning the ACCOUNT, especially when it can contain who knows how much money in purchases and be connected to many devices, is uncalled for. This also means any used system can be a timebomb if you don't know it was hacked and sign into it, this can effect many innocent people getting their PSP, PS3, Vita, and PS4 all lose access to all their digital purchases because of a PS3 they got at GameStop that they didn't know was hacked.

The simple solution is to not mod online games and to keep your main psn off your jailbroken console.Pirating is a choice but preventing the ban is simple if you know what not to do.There are also chances of getting banned if you get reported,so keep your psn account as private as possible.

Yeah but it still is crummy that Sony bans the account too. At least with Microsoft, they only banned the console itself iirc.

Sonys servers have been hacked the most in the past,so its ony obvious that they go ape shit on innocent people.

Another thing that should be added is if people are using webman and/or cobra stuff. Ive heard that using that even with syscalls off can result in a ban because its "modified". Not sure how true this is, or if its true at all, but its worth asking as well.

If you are careful you shouldnt get banned dude. I tbh should have just stayed on 4.55 Rogero that has been spoofed to 4.81... lol I dont want to downgrade because that will result in the hdd being wiped lol. Good old 3.55 downgrader.pup lol

Sup gangstas! hey what about who used an e3 flasher and who didnt?
