You know, Sega, it's really sad when a handful of amateurs can make a better game than you can. ITS YOUR FUCKING FRANCHISE! If you were smart, you would have these folks on your payroll instead of doing the obvious, which is issue a C&D and kill any chance you have of bringing your fans back.
They are totally copying a game Sega made and just upgrading the graphics? Sega doesn't need to hire special people for this.
Until you know anything about video games besides just playing them, just don't open your mouth. You show how truly ignorant you really are. This isn't Sonic 2 with just a fresh coat of paint. Sega didn't hand over the source of the game and just said "Okay, have at it guys, have fun!" Which means that they for one needed to do the level designs by scratch, and the physics engine also by scratch. That, i'm sure is miles above what you are capable of, i'll bet my left testicle on that.
It's impressive that they remade everything about the game from scratch and still kept it more or less faithful, but I have to side with King Zargo a little bit here. While it is nice looking, I don't particularly see the benefit. This is coming from a person who doesn't particularly care about high definition and is more interested in actual content, and while the idea of a level editor and extra zones does grab my attention a little bit, I'd have to see what that actually entails. But ultimately when you boil it down, it's a double decade old game that is being made brighter and more colorful. From a programming and designer standpoint, it's impressive, but from a gamer standpoint, I don't feel there's much I would personally get out of it. Now a full fledged remake like that one video that was floating around, that would be something really worthwhile. Not saying people aren't allowed to enjoy this, but not everyone has to.
I do have to kind of point out though that when you say "amateurs making a better game than Sega" that they are rebuilding the game Sega made from the ground up. That's not exactly making a better game, unless you just think the classic game in high definition is the best a Sonic game can be. That's not meant as an insult, just an observation.
