I personally liked most of the recent Sonic titles, including Colors, Black Knight, and Secret Rings. I never actually liked the original 3 titles for various reasons, so when they switched up the formula, I was very happy. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is probably my favorite title out of all Sonic titles.

That being said, if this is another fast paced sidescroller, I'll probably still play it. I did like the SA series, and Sonic Rush/Colors DS was pretty fun, too.

I'm actually curious how this will turn out, Sonic hasn't exactly been on the ball lately.

On a side note:
Sonic gets a 20th anniversary game, and Nintendo can't even make a special Legend of Zelda release for the 25th? I would have settled for a compilation disc/cartridge.

Well, damn.

But yes, as someone pointed out, I wonder why this one isn't on Wii as well.

The Wii didn't get Sonic '06 (which was colossally bad), but it did get the awful Mario & Sonic games.

But ps3/360 also did get Sonic Unleashed, which was awful as well.

Wii did get Sonic Colors (and DS too).

Maybe this might be the "good" Sonic game that's overdue on the PS3/60. Sonic 4 just never felt right to me. Certainly not worth the asking price they were initially going for it.

Though the direction seems to remind me of Mega Man Universe as well, with having current and "past" Sonic(s) able to play side by side. I confess, it has me curious.

Oddly enough, DS copy edges out for me because of having tears-of-blissful-nostalgia-induing Special stages.

WTF, Sony and Microsoft don't deserve Sonic.

At this point I don't think anyone deserves Sonic. He's not nearly as much of a giant in the gaming world as he used to be. He's essentially a has-been. It's like saying Nintendo doesn't deserve a new Crash Bandicoot game. The franchise was great on the PSX but it's essentially dead now and produces little more than mediocre games.

But seriously, "new" Sonic games suck terribly, with the exeption of Sonic Colors. Even Classic Collection for the DS was made shitty in the only way it could have been shitty (what would be the menus and shit, I understand the point of it is just the game pack but come on).

Calling it now, time travel will be involved. And if the Old and New Sonic are together, it's a pretty good chance that Eggman and Robotnik will be, too. Eggman has enough trouble dealing with one hedgehog, let alone two.

This is Sonic 1, 2 and 3 remade in the unleashed style minus the werehog. I bet sonic and tales Get thrown from the present to the past and have to stop both present day and past eggman from recking time. Thus throwing a Sonic CD element into the story (but not game play)

I love how everyone complains that sonic hasn't had a good game in years. yet Colors is all I could have ever wanted for 3d sonic title. Sonic Colors is hands down one of the greatest sonic titles there has ever been, there I said it.
