Homebrew Sonic Chaos doesn't work in Genplus GX?

The Sega Master System version of Sonic Chaos boots up fine, but once I select Sonic or Tails, it shows the Zone/Act screen and then the stage music plays for only 0.5 seconds and it crashes on a black screen. How do I fix this?

Nevermind, I downloaded a later version and now to works fine, past the character selection screen. It shows the Zone/Act screen and then it goes into the stage without crashing.
