IMO the Sonic adventure series was their best set of games. They should've stuck with those.

I am curious as to how this totally awesome sonic game plays nothing like "past games"?

Yeah, I remember all those other main series Sonic games that revolved around fighting.

How does this action platformer

"Platformer", uh, sure.

Sonic is no longer rolling up into a blue ball and constantly spinning in to walls? Because if it is, that is "something similar" to past sonic games. Are you battling a broken camera, being annoyed by irritating "friends" of sonic? This is not new. Playing as knuckles, hunting around for shit that takes forever to do.....This is not "new".

Do you even know what game this is?

But this game looks SHIT

No, that's just your eyesight. Sonic Colors looks flippin' amazing, in graphics, visuals, and gameplay.

Prove me wrong in however many months and post a link to megacritic with 10/10 sonic reviews in this thread.. Hey I'll even settle for 9/10, or 8/10, or even 7/10. If it gets an average of 60% I'll admit that I was wrong and this sonic game is soooooooooo awesome and "totally new" and the best thing since (whatever crap game you dream up).

"I'm laudern, I judge games not by my own opinion but by numbers of "professional reviews"."

I'm doubting that you played Colors, or Sonic 4, or any Sonic game for that matter; you just scoop up whatever IGN or Metacritic says.

To be honest, it's beyond me why SEGA is still trying to reinvent the wheel, while people are displeased with anything and everything that isn't a MegaDrive or GBA Sonic. The only logical thing to do here is to do it the Capcom way. Their latest MegaMan games, which look like NES titles, got rave reviews. Do a God damned 16-bit looking title, and say "here! can you all please shut up now?". Just look at Mario Bros U ... Aside from objects being 3D, very little has changed, and people love it. Let go of changin 3D perspectives, and focus on 2D gameplay with polygonal graphics, or 16-bit graphics. Either way, video from the first post in this topic looks bad. It's like twenty steps back from Sonic Heroes. Colors aren't popping, camera shifting is crazy, in a bad way, and it all just looks soooo painfully dulllllll ...

Either I'm too old or this guy is too stupid, but I cannot be bothered. Gahars discarded him very will with 1 line. I shall have to use that in the future...

Can someone else please differentiate for this guy the difference between a fighter and a platformer...

Anyway...

Real men only play this fighter, bictch!

I guess a sonic fighting game isn't that "new"

seriously though it is refreshing to get a game where they actually remembered to animate Sonic

we haven't seen that in like, what... eight years?

I don't know what's people's problem - Eggman looks just fine and the gameplay looks alright, like a mix of Adventure and Sonic Heroes (if Sonic Heroes didn't suck). The thing that upset me was the "Kowabunga" sound. Ech. ECH. I hope they take that out, "haha - a reference!" doesn't tickle me the right way. That, and Knuckles is too buff in comparison to the promotional materials - they need to adjust his model.

Eggman looks better than the real thing. This could be the best Eggman yet.

Knuckles is starting to oddly make sense and if you squint at certain parts, he actually looks like Knuckles. o.o
And damn they remembered to animate the characters. We have probably never seen to Sonic characters having been remembered to be animated to quite this extent.

The thing that upset me was the "Kowabunga" sound.
I'll give it 10/10 for the writing... 1/10 for the voice actor

I'll agree with you that Sonic Adventure 1 was good but the second was just dogshit.

I kinda wish they'd be working on Sonic Generations 2 instead of this.

Sonic Adventure is unplayable dogshit. The levels are basically just a few screens with gimmicks thrown in, and Sonic sticks to literally everything. Like the entire game is made of velcro. Sonic Adventure 2 on the other hand is actually very good, everything worked smoothly in comparison, and the Sonic levels actually felt reminiscent of the levels from the classics and had consistency rather than being plodding and gimmicky.

Aside from a couple of times falling off the levels through the walls the game was pretty enjoyable and my god, the music was miles better than what they composed for the sequel.

wait so you hate SA2 because of the music?

To be honest, it kinda looks like they've gone downhill visually. Sonic Generations looks a lot nicer than this, imo.
