NOTE: I know there is another topic about this, but its patch does not work.

This patch runs on a Sonic 2 rom of the SMD filetype, NOT the Sonic 2K rom. This had people in the inactive topic confused.

The patch contains a hack which basically builds S2K the "hard way", implementing Knuckles and his features by modding S2 code with S2K code containing Knuckles' moves. Because it's not a "lock-on" and is fully independent from SK besides Knuckles' moves taken from SK, it does not create a large ROM and therefore is playable.

    Tested and works.

Isn't playing Sonic games in jenesisDS made obsolete when compared to the official Sonic Classic Collection game?

The framerate on JenesisDS is much better, though.

Yes, the framerate is better and the sound effects are better emulated on jEnesisDS. As for SCC, unless you've got it retail on a DSi/3DS system, jEnesis is the way to go.
The entire Sonic collection (excluding Sonic 1 & Knuckles, replaced with Knuckles in Sonic 1 by Stealth(KiS1 was originally meant to be a Lock-on game, but couldn't due to technical issues.), also excluding Sonic 3 & Knuckles) and the emulator takes up less space, too.
