There's the original freeware game.
http://nifflas.ni2.se/?page=Knytt+Stories
and a DS port/remake(?)
http://www.rodrigoroman.com/rrc2soft/nds_dsknytt.html
And it has a pretty huge following- as evidenced by the number of levels made for it, here
http://knyttlevels.com/

It would no doubt be a successful homebrew app, the game has a pretty massive following. I think it would be pretty cool to see a port of it to the Wii- I think i remember someone else asking for this elsewhere-- but i don't remember ^_^

The DS version is open source from what i can tell. Maybe someone could port that?

It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to implement a download code to get level bins from knyttlevels.com either.

idk. just a suggestion. :)

True on the DS version being open source (can be found here). But even then, asking for someone to do all the work so you can play the result usually don't work that way. Those who know how to code generally have their ideas of their own. (likewise: writers rather write their own stuff than being told what to write about...and writing takes far less effort).

EDIT: hmm...almost forgot: there WAS a starting coder asking for projects somewhere in the wii section some time ago (about a month?). Can't remember details, though. If you can dig that back up and send him the request, perhaps he'll help...if he hasn't already found something inbetween.

The original game has no source code, apparently it was made with Multimedia Fusion software.
The DS one is more a remake than a port. It relies mostly on PALIB. So it implies a Lot to be rewritten for a Wii remake using Devkit and libogc.
I'd say there's about 0% probability for a Wii remake (except for a great fan and very motivated coder).
By the way the game is lovely and rather fun to play.

Like Wever said, try asking this man here. We never know...
