Hacking Some questions about getting my R4 up and running

I'm trying to get my R4 files loaded and ready on my MicroSD before i get my r4 in the mail (DX/VOlumerate), and i got some questions.

1) i have the latest R4 software installed, and am i correct in saying that DLDI patches automatically with homebrew?

2) I tried installing the newest moonshell, 1.71 on my card. On the root are two .nds files, _DS_MSHL (original) and "MoonShell_R4TF_M3Simply-R4DS (MicroSD Card)" (installed w/ the 1.71). They are the same size and i wonder if i need both, or if i should rename the second one _DS_MSHL, and delete the orginal?

3) I am trying to make some of the system, etc. files hidden, and when I check "hidden" do i have to hide all subfolders?
