I had no idea how to hack this used PSP Go before I read the 2 sticky thread on this forum. I am still scared of a possible brick but someone who has all the knowledge, please let me know if what I am about to do is ok.

The PSP Go has official firmware 6.37 and is a European model. I am planning to run the 6.60 OFW update from this link: http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=26021 (The website says it's for USA models, European models will work too?)

Then I will download this file: http://filetrip.net/g35132300-SIGNED-6-60-PRO.html and run the Pro Update.

So this will get my PSP Go ready to play the emulators and allow me to run the temporary custom firmware?

I don't care for the perma-patch and I don't wish to downgrade so am I good with this method?

I am fairly new to this PSP thing so please be patient with me.

    Thank you for the help.

Looks like you're good to go.
I think you should download the fixed version of pro from here http://code.google.c...=label:Featured
I'm not sure if the one on filetrip has been updated.

If you follow the directions correctly you shouldn't have any problems
if you're still a little worried, you should check out some youtube videos so you'll know what to expect

Thanks for the reply! Will use this one as it's been fixed: 6.60 PRO-B10.fix1 from your link.
Indeed, never thought of Youtube for this. Am going to watch a video or two and will do it in an hour.

Another little question, I have read on a thread somewhere that there are PSP homebrews that access/modify the flash0 of PSP. Is there a list or such of such homebrews? I could avoid them.

yea ive done same as you dude

    all sounds good

yup just update as you planned with proB 10 fix1

just look at homebrews your using
Menu mod, Font Mods, things like system stuff is flash0
Emulators and such dont, but all homebrews normally state if they have to touch the flash0

Cool! Will work on it now, and I'll be careful. Love this PSP Go, I hope I could play some of my favourite games from SNES. :)

    Appreciate the quick replies!

Edit: Installed the Pro B10 firmware successfully. Played a few GBA games on GBsp. Thanks everyone.

You could always downgrade to 6.20 and use the 6.20 Pro with the permanent patch. All PSP Go systems can be downgraded to 6.20 nowadays.

It's actually called "gpsp," not GBsp. For your information, there is an official version called gpsp kai that runs games IMO better than the other versions. :)

I see, but I read somewhere that once you downgrade certain PSPs it won't upgrade again later. I don't want to risk that besides, Temporary firmware is working great for me. I dunno how to fully shutdown the PSP Go, I just slide the side button and when I start to play again, The Firmware is always there, I never have to re-initialize it. It's permanent!

Thanks for the correction will look into the Kai soon.

The downgrade issue was for 09g 3000s, all the Gos should be able to downgrade just fine, I've never heard of it failing.
