Please don't do that here. It's fine if you want to do it on your own for practice, but submitting automated translations just means I'll have to go over the lines myself to fix everything it misinterpreted or didn't pick up, and that defeats the purpose of an open translation.

If you need a dictionary, use the one shared by JWPce and WWWJDIC (both excellent resources).

If you don't have a good enough grasp of the language to understand a sentence without using a machine translation as a starting point, then the quality of your contributions is not going to be very high. But if you're just using those sites as a dictionary, you may as well use an actual dictionary - you get multiple possible definitions that way. It's kind of worrisome when you leave things like NAMIDA and TAMAGO untranslated when they show up in katakana, because that suggests to me that you're relying very heavily on the machine translation rather than your own knowledge. JWPce would recognize those, though.

You're hard man, I translate a lot of skill and all my translation work, I don't count on my japanese knowledge (very litle) but on my game knowledge

I use these site as a star point and i Also use dictionnary, but yeah i try to translate some quest but without sucess because i need a lot of word contexte and name....

And that's the point where I hope that when it is possible to translate the dialogues of the game itself, someone won't come and say 'See, I translated half of the dialogues and story - with Google/Babelfish/whatev'. It is a fact that the dialogues as I played so far in Japanese are stuffed with dialects and so-called ???? - hanashikotoba, expressions that are only used in spoken Japanese. No Google or translation machine in the internet will understand that.

Tutorials, quest descriptions and so on may not be that delicate when someone translates it with a translation machine (given the fact that one should understand where to go to finish the quest

and despite the fact that it is troublesome for DarthNemesis to check everything twice when something has been done with Google/Babelfish), but the story's much more essential IMHO.

Mh, I hope I got that right with my crappy english.

Well I don't see anyone else trying to help these guys out, oh and I have done some of the tutorial menu for you to look at and some more of the scenario log.

I used google earlier and then made a correct sentence with the words and that let me know if I slowing your progress won't you.

Crash and burn!

I have to express how happy I am that you are undertaking this project.

I can honestly say that Soma Bringer is one of the best rpgs i've ever played, regardless of system.
Thanks to this translation patch I can enjoy the game even more.

this will definetly be able to tide me over until they decide to release an Us version

Thanks again for all the hard work everyone's put into this translation project, I wish I could help, but my knowledge of japanese is virtually none.

That doesn't prevent me from enjoying good J-Rpgs every once in a while though

Once again, great work on this translation patch!

Well I don't speak any Japanese, I just run the infomation through google or babelfish and then put it info into a proper sentence. Have added some more to thr tutorial menu please feel free to correct it if need be.

Will do some later on gotta go for the moment.

Crash and Burn!!

I just wanted to thank you guys for the great work you're doing.

Thanks guys, it is really apreciated.

My only regret is that I can't speak Japanese at all and so I can't help you.

Good news, it turns out the game is nice enough to start a new dialogue box if you run over the limit on the current one, so I don't actually have to mess around with the event scripting. The latest patch contains all of the Act 0 cutscenes! Not done with the tutorial yet, though. I'll upload the updated string editor once I finish going over the 1000+ script files and adding them to the list.

Can you put up a percentage completed?
Don't really have one. Feel free to take a look at the wiki and see what's done.

One word

Great!

the engine of the game is great, create a new box when the texte end is great, whith this we can translate without restriction

edit; just create a new charactere and its absolutely great man , The dialogue and contexte is perfect, too bad i'm not to powerfull in japanese to understand and translate the dialogue....

I found a bug/freeze i don't know why, the dialogue is untranslated ( i think because i cant see it)
Its in the Act 1, take the warp to Amarty Streets, and talk to the guy with the new paper mark on his head (information) and choose the first option, an huge dialogue box appear and game freeze

Big Probleme: In the first town (maybe in other, more test later) The game freeze when you speak to some people (infomation guy, church and a lot of other) ...... i don't know why

Edit 2 : this lastest patch is very unstable , its block the progression, with my new charactere i have to speak with someone in the downtown and i can't went to the downtown, because When i tape A next to the elevator nothing appear..... ( all Star icon don't work)
Many sidquest guy make the game freeze

Issue: i don't know if it present in previous patch, so its maybe due to act 0 and some offset movement

Edit 3; if you can provide me a link to the previous patch i can test more

edit 4 ; i refound the old patch (27 b) now i test with it

EDIT 5 : Ok i understand all, the old patch work perfectly, with the new patch the information guy have only 2 option(not normal) , a lot of people in game make the game freeze, with the 03-27b patch the informatuin guy have all his option and all work. (normal) and the elevator work, sidequest guy also
conclusion i think you move some files in the game structure

i reupload the older patch for everyone
The link http://www.sendspace.com/file/k748fr i just upload the .xd file just place it and overwrite the .xd file in 03-29 folder

Edit :6 Post correction (for make sence XD)
Edit 7: WOw a lot of edit

but now you know all

Er! has the program been updated to enter the script or not as I have looked for an update but not found one as yet. Have we all stop working on the tutorials andstarted on the script, as if not I will continue to do my best to translate that part.

Hmm, I didn't notice that there are some line numbers in the headers that don't always start at 1. Let me modify the program to leave those intact and I'll put out a new patch.
