Since the serial number can be viewed in system settings, is it possible to read it out of a NAND dump?

Edit: Solved thx to Discord user ShimaRin!

Steps:
  1. merge NAND dump files to one (if you dumped it on FAT32)
  2. open it with HacDiskMount
  3. double click PRODINFO
  4. dump it to a file
  5. open with Notepad++
  6. the serial number is written somewhere in plain text so just search for something like XAJ

Well...I guess this beats having to call Nintendo if your sticker ever wears out or falls off.

you can also get the serial number from system settings. that's what I used to see if the refurbished system I got from Nintendo was patched. it wasn't. :D
