    Since the serial number can be viewed in system settings, is it possible to read it out of a NAND dump?

    Edit: Solved thx to Discord user ShimaRin!

    Steps:
    1. merge NAND dump files to one (if you dumped it on FAT32)
    2. open it with HacDiskMount
    3. double click PRODINFO
    4. dump it to a file
    5. open with Notepad++
    6. the serial number is written somewhere in plain text so just search for something like XAJ

    Well...I guess this beats having to call Nintendo if your sticker ever wears out or falls off.

    you can also get the serial number from system settings. that's what I used to see if the refurbished system I got from Nintendo was patched. it wasn't. :D

    That was basically the first line of the OP. OP couldn't view his System Settings because his console was stolen.

    ah, I see. I was referring to your post about the serial number only being on the sticker.

    Actually it was written in plain text in the PRODINFO.bin which I was able to export with HakDiscMount.
    Some guys on ReSwitched helped me out on this. :)
