Hacking Software Update

I have an original Pokemon X cartridge, whenever I start it, it says that there is a software update available in Nintendo Eshop. Is this "software update" updates my 3DS firmware or it will just update my Pokemon X cartridge? My firmware is 9.2.0-20U0 and i also have gateway. Thanks.

its for the game, but i think to update the game you need to be on latest firmware.

You probably don't have the latest game update

If you have the emuNAND, enter into eShop and download the latest Pokemon X update, or download its .cia from internet and install with FBI or another installer
